Hi all,

I'm doing a new build and having trouble getting it to POST.  Before I go too deep, should this combo be supported with BIOS v1.3?

Thanks!

According to the CPU Support list for your board, the i5-6400T should be supported by all UEFI/BIOS versions:

So it seems you have another problem.

Do you have a POST beep speaker connected to the board?

What memory are you using? Full model name please.

I don't have a speaker available but I should probably buy one.  (Any recommendations?)

The RAM is Crucial CT2K4G4DFS8213 (as recommended by the Crucial website for this motherboard).

Thanks for the help.

So I ordered and received a speaker and connected it and booted the system.  Unfortunately, still no POST and worse, no sounds at all from the speaker.  Next steps anyone? :(

Do you have a power cable from the PSU connected to the four pin +12V ATX CPU power connector on the board?

It's to the left of the CPU socket, and to the right of the DVI connector. The CPU won't start without a cable connected to this connector, it is required.

Sorry to waste your time with that speaker, since I recall that the default setting in the UEFI/BIOS for the POST beep speaker is Disabled, at least it is for all my ASRock boards.

WHY that is still that way, I cannot understand... Wacko

Yes, I do have the 4 pin power connector connected.  I'll post a full build inventory a little later.  You're right, that's a bit ridiculous for the speaker to be disabled by default. Ouch
