Hi,

The problem I am facing is...

I bought from amazon 2 H81 pro btc motherboard, 2 intel cpu G3240, so far looks like any of those is working, when I press the power button the fan cooler begins working and stopd almost at the same time, so I took the cpu out a tested another board, and the same happened. so I talked with a frined a he test my board with his cpu (that was working) and the same thing hapened, the most xtrange is that he put my cpu on his motherboard (also working) and the same thing happened. So he told your stuff didn`t work and put everything back together (his equipment) now pc doesn`t start... maybe my cpu burn his board or my board burn his cpu, is that possible? just in one test???

Thank you

We need to carefully follow the sequence of events in each situation, to try to understand what happened, and hopefully why it happened.

I also want to include here your first thread about the problems you are having with these boards and processors:

http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2953&title=pc-doesnt-start" rel="nofollow - http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2953&title=pc-doesnt-start

First, it seems that the first sentence in the first post of this thread is not saying what you want it to say. I see you are in Venezuela, so English is probably not your native language. Your English is good, but all it takes is one missing word and the sentence is wrong. Sorry, but I am just trying to help you, I could not write anything in Spanish as good as you do in English.

You wrote:

"I bought from amazon 2 H81 pro btc motherboard, 2 intel cpu G3240, so far looks like any of those is working..."

In your other thread, you tell us how the boards and CPUs are not working after you assembled them and tried to start the PC. So that sentence should be:

"I bought from amazon 2 H81 pro btc motherboard, 2 intel cpu G3240, so far looks like NONE of those is working..."

Both of your boards and CPUs are NOT working, the boards and CPUs you bought from Amazon, as you said in your other thread. That is what you wanted to say, right? I just want to get that right so others reading your thread understand what really happened. Smile

I want to start this discussion where you put your friend's CPU in your board. The PC did not start or work, just like what happened when you tried your CPUs in that board.

Next you said you put your CPU, which seems to be damaged, into your friends board, and his PC did not start.

I wish you did not do that, or at least until your friend put his CPU back into his board before you put your CPU into his board, to see if his CPU was working in his board, after it was in your board.

That makes you wonder what you wrote, "maybe my cpu burn his board or my board burn his cpu...". We cannot know which is true, or you will always wonder which is true, because you tried your CPU in his board first. I'm sorry to say that, but I think you will understand.

What I think is happening, sorry to say, is for some reason your board, or something else like your power supply, or the way it is connected to the board, or something else, is killing the CPUs.

We cannot see all your equipment of course, and how it is set up and connected, so we cannot know or see what might be wrong. We can only guess, and that is what I'm doing. I'm sorry to say that you MIGHT be doing something wrong, but there is so much we don't know, and it is impossible to be sure unless we were with you and could see everything.

It is more likely that it is the board or the setup of the system that is killing the CPUs. A dead or defective CPU normally does not break or ruin a mother board.

I think your CPU was damaged from your testing, and of course did not work in your friend's board. I do not think your CPU damaged your friend's board. I think your board/system damaged your friend's CPU. Your friend should try clearing the BIOS/CMOS on his board, and try his CPU again.

Yes, it is possible for a damaged board or one that is not set up correctly, to burn a CPU in just one test. If the voltage sent to the CPU is not right, the CPU can be destroyed very quickly.

When you change the CPUs, you remove them from the CPU socket. Do all the pins in the CPU socket look good? No burning or black color in the socket? Is the bottom of the CPU clean, and not burnt or black?

The CPUs that you bought, were the boxes sealed with clear tape on one side, and a white label on the other side?

Did the boards you bought seem to new and not opened? It would be very, very unusual for a new mother board to damage a CPU, even if it was defective. We have not heard about any bad H81 Pro BTC boards in this forum.

Thank you for your english leson Yes, my native language is spanish...

First about my friend... I did not made the test, so I am can`t say it was well done exactly... However I spoke with him and told me as follow, He replace both CPU on each mother board, did not work and then move booth of them back... So I can say was not very good tested... As you said.

However I asked him his CPU and tried again with my boards, I have 4 with me, 2 has BIOS 1.5 and 2 has BIOS 1.3, as I saw on Asrock webpage 1.3 doesn`t support G3240, does it mean The system doesn`t start? not even to BIOS? one of those 1.3 doesn`t even try to move the fans, PSU and fan cooler, another 1.3 move them for a second and booth 1.5 move them for a second as well.

The CPU looks great everywhere, I can`t find any black stuff or burned, not any smell neither.

About CPU box, one side is a white sticker with some bar codes including Made in Vietnam. The other side has a clear tape with Intel Factory Sealed.

I am thinking about returning, I already talked with one of the sellers and gave me the address, but I am not sure if I should send the motherboards and the CPU, or only the mother boards, or booth of them. This has been so confusing for me... I am affraid of trying another CPU...

What do you think? This morning I decided to buy a Asrock H97 Anniversary to avoid supporting BIOS problems... If the CPU was destroyed by motherboard, should I see something on it? like you asked, black, burn or smell it right?

I wrote to Asrock support 2 days ago, and still waiting...

Not sure if replied all your questions, hope I got better english this time hahahaha
