I am thinking of Buying a AMD 480 Video card but I have been reading about the card drawing to much on the PCIE slot and could burn out the mother board is this true, my Board is a Asrock Z77 extreme 3 motherboard and I don't want to buy this card and have it fry my board

The short(ish) and general answer is that with the current drivers the RX 480 may put motherboards at risk, especially cheaper ones, so it's better to wait for partner cards to arrive on the market. You'll likely see cards with 8 pin power connectors, more efficient cooling and higher clocks. They may cost a bit more than the reference card, but the improvements should (IMO) be worth it.
