WHY must the Windows program BIOS updates STILL be made available... and why do people use them. Pinch

You may need to get a new BIOS chip, which can be replaced, fortunately, by yourself. Unless you are not very handy. The BIOS chip is in a socket, no soldering necessary. The old one is carefully pried out of the socket with a tiny screwdriver, or IC removal tool.

The BIOS chip can be ordered from ASRock, starting with this form:

Your other option, not guaranteed to work, is to use the Instant Flash BIOS file, and hope the BIOS recovery feature will work.

Download the Instant Flash BIOS update file, same version of the Windows update. You did not mention the BIOS version, so I'll assume the latest one, 2.60.

Right click on the download .zip file and select Extract. Follow the prompts and the result will be the extracted Instant Flash BIOS update file.

Copy that file to a USB flash drive. The file name must be: 970E32_2.60

The correct file size is: 4,096 KB

Put the USB flash drive in a USB 2.0 port on the board's IO panel. Do NOT use any other USB ports, only a USB 2.0 on the IO panel.

Start the PC, turn on the monitor, and hope for the best. If you see some activity on the screen, you might get lucky.

If that does not work, you could try clearing the BIOS with the jumper on the board, and try starting it again, but that is normally not recommended.

To generate bad publicity ....... That's all I can think of, AND, all that it's worth.
