Hi. I've bought myself new setup based on h170 pro 4s motherboard, which has intel i219-v lan controller onboard. Windows 10 as OS.
The thing is sometimes i need to switch my network off temporarely. On my old setup (which has realtek lan) everything worked fine.
Now here when i do that my system freezes completely while reenabling connection/adapter. Mouse does not move, keyboard leds do not work, even reset button does not work. Only by holding power button am i able to shut pc down (hard power cycling obviously works too).
Disabling and then enabling device in the device managers leads to the same freeze. Attempt at reinstalling the driver leads to freeze.
I figure i am not the only one who is experiencing such problem: 1) http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2079&KW=i219-v&title=windows-10-update-failures" rel="nofollow - http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2079&KW=i219-v&title=windows-10-update-failures 2) http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/4pbyi6/installingenabling_intel_network_driver_causes_pc/" rel="nofollow - https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/4pbyi6/installingenabling_intel_network_driver_causes_pc/ 3) http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/hardware-clinic-2/pc-hangs-when-enabling-installing-network-adapter-5400931.html" rel="nofollow - http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/hardware-clinic-2/pc-hangs-when-enabling-installing-network-adapter-5400931.html (same guy as in 2)
Still, this is all i was able to google up, which likely means that problem is somewhat rare.
Can anyone comment on that issue?
So far i am considering trying careful full reinstall with latest intel drivers. If it does not help maybe old and trusty win8.1 will work...but if it won't help, i'll probably be forced to get some new board with realteks :(
