I cannot get my ITX-N3700 to change frequencies in Fedora 24...Google has been little help.

I'm running "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/null" x 3 times

[root@sip ~]# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu?/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq 
479937
479937
480000
480000

[root@sip ~]# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu?/cpufreq/scaling_governor
performance
performance
performance
performance

[root@sip ~]# cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu?/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq 
2400000
2400000
2400000
2400000

[root@sip ~]# uptime
 12:39:04 up 13:19,  2 users,  load average: 3.03, 3.01, 2.59


I'm booting UEFI.  I have tried both settings for SpeedStep (enabled / disabled).  I have the system running in "Sport" mode.

Where else to look?  Help is appreciated.

I've disabled intel_pstate and now I'm up at full CPU. I currently have speedstep turned off in UEFI.  Once I can get to the machine, I will turn that back on and post further updates.

There seems to be an issue with the intel_pstate and Fedora 24 with this Chipset maybe.

I enabled tracing and could confirm that the cores would not scale up.

Yep this is the fix.  Now working as expected:

  available cpufreq governors: conservative userspace powersave ondemand performance
  current policy: frequency should be within 480 MHz and 1.60 GHz.
                  The governor "ondemand" may decide which speed to use
                  within this range.
  current CPU frequency: 480 MHz (asserted by call to hardware)
  boost state support:
    Supported: yes
    Active: yes

[root@sip ~]#


Running "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/null"

As expected one core in at full speed:

1601000
[root@sip ~]#


Now just to figure out turbo.

Hmmm, switched back to intel_pstate and cpu is scaling now.  Smile

Thanks for this information, it may help someone, someday.

Sorry, but most people use Windows, for reasons like the one you had. Plus they don't have the experience to know what to do.

When using Linux, you are basically on your own, besides Linux forums. At least Intel provides a bit of support with drivers, or links to where drivers can be found.
