Finally!! The H170 Pro4/Hyper has arrived! A massive thank you to ASRock for supporting me, cannot wait to starting the build, but I haven't got time to purchase other component like CPU&DDR4 Ram, will sort that out ASAP!!!
But now, some unboxing pics
Straight to the business, Hyper BCLK Engine brings OC capability down to H170
10 Power phase design, Nichicon 12K caps, all good stuff!!
The specs, not that special for a high end H170 Mobo to be honest
And things you get in the box, again, not so special
Nice!!!! Black and white theme just looks soooo nice!!!
Absolutely no compromise on CPU&DIMM VRMs, I think this Mobo shares PCB design with Z170 Pro4, overclocking potential must be good, although I am not a big fan of overclocking, it is still nice to know that my CPU&Rams has the same kind of power design as Z170 Pro4, you know, for maximum stability.
Evil little thing, the external clock generator made by IDT
Finally!!! I can have USB3.0 in the front of my computer
PCIe Gen3X4 M.2 slot, it's a very new technology for me, might need it in the future
Lots of USB3.0 ports and a Intel Gigabit Lan, but too bad it doesn't come with a S/PDIF for audio output
Conclusion: Can't wait to pick up other component for this project, so excited about it, I will update the build log and some testing in the near future.
As for the Mobo, it is really a nerd porn for me, so many feature and there are all new for me, M.2/Sata Express/DDR4 DIMMs, can't believe that much has changed over the years, might even consider to get a new graphics even though I don't play games at all
