I recently upgraded a Windows 11 machine with the Z690 EXTREME. After getting the board I couldn't get it to POST with the 14 Gen i7 processor. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and the machine POSTed on first try and booted straight to my Windows 11. After re-activating windows everything seems to running fine. I see a very noticeable difference in the speed, it is much faster than my old 9th Gen i9.
However knowing that Windows 11 supposedly doesn't support a motherboard without a TPM Chip installed, I had purchased one to install after the upgrading
I bought a ASROCKRACK Accessory TPM 2.0 Module from Amazon and after getting the machine fully functional, I powered down the PC, installed the chip and then the PC would not power up, it was like the power button wasn't connected because absolutely nothing would happen when I pressed the button. so I pulled the chip off the board, and it still wouldn't power on UNTIL I disconnected the power cord and reconnected it and the PC powered on with no problem. I repeated this a few times to make sure.
Thinking the chip was bad I returned to Amazon for a replacement which I got next day, HOWEVER this chip did exactly the same thing as the previous chip
Before I go looking for a TPM from a different vendor, is there anyone who has experienced this and if so did you find a solution and if so what did you find.
