Good morning,
should I buy a MB Z170 Extreme 7.
I wanted to know if I can connect to port M2_1 as W10 boot disk a Samsung 950 Pro NVME 256gb (no raid).
Because the manual and support list HDD is not clear.
Thank you

Morning,

Yes, without any problems.
My board is this one (btw a very good one), and i've installed W10 as boot driver in one 950 PRO and in  raid0 (2 x 950 PRO), which is my actual config.

Good luck

You'll have no problem using any NVMe or AHCI PCIe M.2 SSD in the Z170 Extreme7+ board.

As others have said, you can run a two or three 950 Pro RAID array in this board.

I have a Samsung 950 Pro and SM951 M.2, and an OCZ RD400 M.2 PCIe SSDs in my Z170 Extreme7+ board. Two are NVMe SSDs, the other an AHCI SSD. None are SATA M.2 SSDs.

If you have never installed Windows on an NVMe SSD, you might want to take a look at my guide for installing PCIe SSDs as the OS drive:
