Either should work but should isn't the same as will. Technically PCIe is PCIe but there have been some changes and additions to the actual GPU architecture that need BIOS support since your board was released.

I would contact http://www.asrock.com/support/index.asp" rel="nofollow - Tech Support directly and inquire.

Not having your board and the GPUs in question to test with I can't say for sure and we have seen some compatibility issues with newer GPUs on older boards (not only ASRock boards).

Your CPU provides PCIe 2.0 support, the GTX 1000 series is PCIe 3.0. These video cards will work with PCIe 2.0, but might have slightly lower performance than when used with PCIe 3.0.

Your board has only one PCIe 2.0 x16 slot, so a video card will get all 16 PCIe 2.0 lanes. Since the 1050 or 1060 are not high end video cards, they won't be held back much if at all.

Impossible to say if EVGA or another brand is more compatible. Sometimes older boards have compatibility problems with any new video cards.

When you install a new video card, be sure you clear the BIOS/CMOS before you start the PC with the new card for the first time.

If you are now using a video card, be sure to uninstall its driver before you use the new card. You might want to use a program that cleans up the old video driver before you install the new one.
