I have Z97 EXTREME4/3.1 motherboard
I have connected:
SATA3_0 - Crucial SSD 250GB SATA3
SATA3_1 - Seagate HDD 1TB SATA3
SATA3_2 - Western Digital Caviar HDD 1TB SATA3
SATA3_3 - Asus DVD DRW-24B5ST

Is it the best connection (the fastest for SSD and HDDs) ?
Which connection will be most efficient ?
What for are SATA3_A0 and SATA3_A1 ports?

Thanks for response

You are connected to the correct ports for optimum performance Wink

SATA3_0 - SATA3_5 are provided by the chipset and are the highest performing of the 8 available.
SATA3_A0 and SATA3_A1 are provided by the Asmedia controller and are not as fast but are still faster than SATA2. The Asmedia ports are ideal for data storage such as photographs, music, movies etc, basically anything that does not require optimum access and write times. The intel ports provide maximum throughput and are ideal for boot drives, gaming drives and other programs/files that benefit from access speeds.

I hope this is what you were looking for. Welcome to the forums Smile
