I just got a replacement board back and having problems again. I plug my graphics card into the PCIe3.0 slot and the bios shows that it is empty. Plug it into the next one down and it works just fine. Is there something I'm missing with this?

I have a z75 Pro3
and an R9 270x.

That's weird, what CPU are you using?

You have a replacement board that you received back again?

A quick look at your board's PCIe slot specs:

- 1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot (PCIE2: x16 mode)
- 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot (PCIE3: x4 mode)

If you aren't using an i5 or i7 Ivy Bridge processor, the PCIE2 slot will run at PCIe 2.0 speeds. Otherwise those are the only two processor types that support PCIe 3.0.

The PCIE3 slot's PCIe 2.0 lanes are provided by the Z77 chipset.

Is the Primary Graphics Adapter option setting set to PCI Express?

Did you set the PCIE 2 Link Speed option to anything besides the default value?

The extra weird part is the PCIE3 slot is only an x4 slot.

Other possibilities are bent pins in the CPU socket, or your board's PCE2 socket is defective.
