The motherboard is supposed to support RAM up to 2800, but the highest I can go in bios seems to be 2133. How do I make the ram run at a higher frequency? ------------- Anything stated above has nothing to with IRL. Any similarities are just coincidental. |

XMP profile will only allow 2133 as well. From what I read it seems like the integrated memory controller in the I5 2500K will only support memory speeds up to 2133mhz. Perhaps someone is able to confirm this? (Or sell me a 3770K)  ------------- Anything stated above has nothing to with IRL. Any similarities are just coincidental. |

| Yes, i have 2500k and highest memory clock for this CPU is 2133. I change now to 3770K, and i see now possibility OC memory to 2800Mhz :) |

Going higher to 2400 may not work at all. It depends on what memory you have, and the limits of the memory controller in your CPU. You may be at the limit of your memory controller now, as well as your memory. What model of memory are you using, and how much do you use? Have you tried setting the memory speed to 2400 in the UEFI/BIOS? You will normally need to set the primary memory timings to looser values. Also, increasing the DRAM voltage above 1.5V will probably be necessary. You may also need to increase the VTT and VCCSA voltages to reach a higher memory speed. All of that are basic memory over clocking techniques. Usually DDR3 memory that is rated to work at an over clocked speed like 2133 won't go much higher, or not at all.
