Hi,

I've got a G41C-GS and 2 memories Team 2*2GB ( QVL ).
With one stick it works at 1333 mhz.
With two sticks it only works at 1000 mhz.

Do you know any config that makes dual channel at 1333.

" rel="nofollow - What BIOS revision is the board flashed tto AND what is the part/model number of the 2x2gb Kit you have?

Hi,

The BIOS is 1.40c beta and the part number of the memories is TED32048M1333HC9

That P/N represents a single stick, not a matched kit.

So, please grab CPU-z and post pics of each sticks Memory and SPD tab. That'll be 4 tabs to post.

Hi,

I dont know if it help. I've detected that the second slot DDR3 wont run @1333, while the first slot run perfectly well.

Is this a new build? If so, 1. visually inspect the DIMM slots with a magnifying glass looking at the contacts aren't mal-aligned, 2. Pull the CPU and using the same magnifying glass, under a bright light source, look for bent and or missing pins.

Hmmm, I don't rightly know if this might be your issue or not.

I just looked over the Specs for your board and find this single vs double sided DIMM nugget:
Quote ***In order to maximize the system memory, please install http://www.asrock.com/mb/images/RAMDoubleSide.png" rel="nofollow - 4GB memory module with 16 cells or http://www.asrock.com/mb/images/RAMSingleSide.png" rel="nofollow - 2GB memory modules with at least 8 cells .

How many chips does your DIMMs have?

I'll check ddr3 slots and CPU pins.

Each module of 2gb 1333 as 8 cells.

For me (i think ) the problem resides on the second slot of DDR3.
With only one module in the 2ยบ Slot only runs @1000 Mhz.

" rel="nofollow - This build has one year. Now that i've managed QVL mems it only work @1333 in single channel on first slot.

I've inspected all CPU and mems pins, seems to be fine.

Other thing, BIOS sets 1.60v and SPD is 1.50v.

Are you relising new BIOS update for G41C ICH7 Chipset?

Other thing, i've been _foruming_ and seems to be g41 problem (independent on brand) on 1333Mhz mems...

I do not work for ASRock yet I'd bet due to the G41's age a new BIOS forthcoming from ASRock is slim.

What I'd do is contact ASRock Tech http://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp" rel="nofollow - HERE and state your issue and include the links you mention. But, keep in mind 1333 is a OC on the G41 as it's official top end is 1066.

If you check the Memory QVL document for the G41C-GS, a memory speed of 1333 is an over clock:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/memory/G41C-GS.pdf" rel="nofollow - http://www.asrock.com/mb/memory/G41C-GS.pdf

The memory controller in your system is part of the G41 chipset. The specifications show a supported memory speed for DDR3 memory to be 1066 maximum:

http://ark.intel.com/products/36528/Intel-82G41-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller-Hub" rel="nofollow - http://ark.intel.com/products/36528/Intel-82G41-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller-Hub

So a DDR3 memory speed of 1333 is an OC on your board. Normally the more memory that is being used (4GB instead of 2GB for example), the harder it is to over clock the memory. Less memory is easier to OC, as you have seen.

Try these things to see if you can get all 4GB of your memory to run at 1333:

1. In the BIOS, in the OC TweakerDRAM Timing Configuration screen, set all the memory timing options to Auto.

2. In the OC Tweaker screen, increase the DRAM Voltage to 1.65V.

Save and Exit the BIOS, boot into Windows, and check your memory speed.

If this works at 1333, then you can try to set the memory timings lower than what the Auto setting gives you, likely higher than 9 9 9 24.

If this does not work, try increasing the memory voltage to 1.70V, with the memory timings set to Auto again.

If that fails, you can either keep increasing the memory voltage, or just accept you can't OC 4GB of that memory.

Well, some good news.

I've downgraded BIOS to first one version:1.0

Just set mem voltage to 1.50 and speed to 1333mhz and thats it, it worked and it's fine.

If you want i can post CPUZ pics if don't you can close the topic.

Regards,

Not sure how or why going to and older BIOS works there but Hey!, if it works .......... Confused

Glad to hear you have both sticks at 1333.

Umm, really? You installed an LGA771 socket processor into the G41M-G3's LGA775 socket?

Unless you did the 771>775 mod to the Xeon, of which I don't see it ever being done with this MB, and expect to flash a custom BIOS, and again I don't see it done previously, then no you're out of luck.

By gosh, I didn't look close enough at that link I posted. The G41C-GS is listed there.

" rel="nofollow - Hi,

After the good news... (downgrading to first BIOS reliese) it work @1333, but sometimes (1 in 7)it won't start.
And what do i do? I press the start botton he turns on but no start, then I press reset button 1 time and he boot @1333mhz.

i am using with jumpers setting for working RAM on 800/1066 instead of variant of 1000/1333
may be it is impossible to use RAM on 1333 with G41 in some cases.
