With the 4gb module alone, does not even turn on

Not a good sign.

Beginning to look like that 4GB stick took a permanent vacation on you.

I have to agree with Wardog here I'm afraid, it sounds like the module is dead or faulty.

The modules are correct, I have an old board asus P5VD2 X, and I take the modules one at a time with no problem, I just lower the MHZ because it does not support

" rel="nofollow - Did you try the 4gb module in all your RAM slots?

This is very odd behavior given the RAM you have is even on ASRock's QvL for your board.

If you have tried all the slots then try putting the RAM in the slot furthest from the CPU then clear CMOS before powering on again.
