" rel="nofollow - Hi, I have a system with FM2A88X+ BTC, AMD A8-7600, and 2 sticks of ADATA DDR3 RAM and a WD Red HDD 3TB.
Symptoms: it freezes after about 20 minutes, whatever the OS, Linux, FreeBSD, Windows
I tried:
- buying a new 600W PSU
- buying new Corsair DDR3 sticks
- buying a new HDD (Toshiba dt01aca300)
- downlocking ram to 800 Mhz
- resetting BIOS defaults
Firmware installed is 1.80. From what I found it looks like this: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=601&title=fm2a88x-extreme4-w10-and-bios-260-freezing
So, the problem could be either the CPU, either the motherboard.
Should I try to downgrade my firmware?
What can I do?

" rel="nofollow - Have you tried disabling "Package C6" in the BIOS? That's Package C6, not simply C6 states.
Since you mine that change isn't an issue.

I bought the BTC version because of the 8 SATA ports and the other version wasn't available on my retailer. I plan to use this as an home server, I don't mine. This computer must be turned on 24/7 and should never go to standby or power saving mode

It's an option in the BIOS.

Downgraded to EFI version 1.70 and I didn't have any crash. Ran furmark+cpu stress for 72 hours no problem
Also disabled Package C6
edit: I tried to enable Package C6 again and my system froze during Debian install. Frustrating. I'm disabling it again.
