" rel="nofollow - I decided to create a separate topic for this issue, so that I won't hijack the other thread. The issue in short:

The subvendor of my GPU is not recognized by my system, which prevents me from using some features in EVGA's PrecisionX software and may cause VBIOS updates to fail.

It's strange GPU-Z does not recognize your GTX 1060 as being an EVGA card. That latest version of GPU-Z is dated 10/18/2016. Since techPowerUp is video card oriented, you'd think their fan base would be screaming for a fix for that, if it was a common problem. That implies that your problem may be unique to you? An old GTX 760 I have has the Subvendor field populated with EVGA.

That's quite a Catch 22, if you can't update the VBIOS/firmware without an update to the firmware to fix the Subvendor data? Are you sure that is the true issue?

It's not just the GPU-Z, but at the moment GPU-Z is the program I use to see if the subvendor data is recognized, since I haven't got much use for the PrecisionX software at the moment. I originally noticed the issue when reading EVGA forums and it's not unique to me.

While EVGA's assessment seems to be that it's an AMD issue, it seems that some Intel boards are also having the same issue:

I'm guessing there's not much else to do than to wait for a possible BIOS update. This is not a big issue for me, since at the moment I have no need for EVGA's software and my current VBIOS supports the 0 db mode, which means that I shouldn't be missing out on any significant features from the VBIOS side.

Now that I think of it GPU-z didn't sow my vendor either:

ASUS GTX-1070 ROG STRIX Gaming OC Edition
Model ROG STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING

And now I best fire up the 9590 box and see what GPU-z has to say of the 1050ti I have in her atm.

Subvendor shows fine with my Gigabyte GTX 960 G1 Gaming 2gb on my Z170 Pro4s.

I think this issue affects mostly the newest generation of NVIDIA cards. At launch, compatibility with motherboards was very limited (at least for certain subvendor cards), and it seems that there's still work to be done. I found this thread where someone mentions the 900-series also having had similar issues previously, and a BIOS update apparently took care of them:

It should be noted that I haven't noticed that PXE-E01 -error on my system.
