" rel="nofollow - Hello I have tried to use a  Maya44 XTe Soundcard with a Asrock N3700M Mainboard and it does not boot at all. No sign of reaction. I also tried a N3700 ITX and here the same card works just fine after
installing the driver.

Does Asrock look forward to investigate the problem any further and will there be motivation for
a BIOS Update that gets it done???

I don't understand what you mean by, "... it does not boot at all. No sign of reaction".

Do you mean the PC does not start up at all? Nothing at all happens, no HDDs starting or fans, etc?

Are you using the same PCIe slot on both boards? The PCIe x1 slots?

The N3700M is a larger board, and if the card works in the N3700-ITX board, it should work in the N3700M.

Same PSU power for both boards?

Gulp! Pg12 of the manual:
Quote
PCIe slots:
PCIE1 (PCIe 2.0 x1 slot) is used for PCI Express cards with x1 lane width cards.
PCIE2 (PCIe 2.0 x16 slot) is used for PCI Express x1 lane width cards.
PCIE3 (PCIe 2.0 x1 slot) is used for PCI Express cards with x1 lane width cards.

" rel="nofollow - Hello parsec, hello wardog

>>"Do you mean the PC does not start up at all? Nothing at all happens, no HDDs starting or fans, etc?"<<

Yes, when the Maya44 XTe Soundcard is plugged in a "Asrock N3700M" Mainboard there is no
hdd starting, no bootup screen, no active display, or USB-Power. Power to the PCIe Bus seams to be working, because the optical SPDIF Output of the "Maya44 XTe" Soundcard is on.  The "Reset"
or "Power On" Pins that normally initiate the bootup don't activate anything.

On the "Asrock N3700M" Mainbaord there a 3 Slots the card fits in mechanically. The
"Maya44 XTe" Soundcard should be "PCIe 1.0 x1", but as far as I know it should be
compatible in all 3 slots. A DVI-Capture Card that should be PCIe 1.0 x4" internally works with
no problems in the PCIe 2.0 x16 slot of the "Asrock N3700M".

I have tried the same "Maya44 XTe" Soundcard with a  "Asrock N3700 ITX" and
with this combination there are no bootup problems. When the drivers are
installed it works fine with Windows 7.

The power supply appear to be not the problem because the  ATX power supply I use for the
"Asrock N3700 ITX" does not change anything to the behavior of the "Asrock N3700M"
when the "Maya44 XTe" Soundcard is plugged in. I doesn't start no matter which power supply
used, I've tried some,  when this PCIe Card is plugged.

I have both the "Asrock N3700M" and the"Asrock N3700 ITX" in regular use and there are really no known other issues.

If it helped I could make pictures or send you the Maya44 XTe Soundcard for your own
testing. I would be great if anybody knew if the successor of this card, the "Maya44ex"
can work on a "Asrock N3700M" when there is no fix.

" rel="nofollow - This is a very strange problem, the board won't start at all with that card in a PCIe slot.

I found the ESI product page for the Maya44 XTe, so no need for pictures. It's a PCIe x1 card, so all the PCIe slots should work with it fine.

Have you tried all of the PCIe slots on the N3700M board, with the Maya44 XTe? I wonder if one of more of the PCIe slots on that board have a problem.

Do you have any other cards in the PCIe slots of the N3700M board?

Do your power supplies have 24 pin ATX connectors?

The N3700M board refuses to work when the Maya44 XTe card is plugged in any of the 3 PCIe slots,
that all should be compatible. The power supply is ATX 24Pin, the Maya44 XTe uses only bus-power
and needs no special connection to the power supply.

This is really a strange problem and I guess its a BIOS issue, because if the card can work fine with
a Asrock N3700 ITX that is technically very close, than there should be hope Asrock might fix it.

Hello, it looks like Asrock has fixed this issue. Yesterday I received a 1.30a Firmware Version
by email and now the computer starts and runs just fine with this sound card plugged in.

Technically it might have something to do with the "PCIe Bridge Chip Tenor TE7009" that is
part of the Maya44 XTe design that maybe wasn't detected correctly before this BIOS fix.

I hope that others find this information useful if they faced the same problem.
