Bluray drive in port2. 1 stick G.Skill DDR4 8gb on slot 0. I am getting no video from graphics card or from on-board DVI port. Does any one have any ideas?

" rel="nofollow - Hi Ken,

1. Double check you haven't overlooked plugging in the 8-pin CPU Power located at the "top' of the board.

2. What is the PN of the G.Skill 8GB stick you have? Have you gone to G.Skill's RAM Configurator to check that it is compatible?

I triple checked all pwr cables, and they are correct, and specifically that one. According to ASRock's website the memory modules are compatible. They are p/n F4-3200C16Q-32GTZB. I had 4 installed, but since they were verified with 2, I dropped down to 2 and then 1.
I am getting no video, so I have no idea if bios is starting.

Pull out the graphics card, reset/clear CMOS and see if the cpu provides video output. Try the HDMI out as well.

Falal1ty Z170 Gaming K4 ???

Neither ASRock nor G.Skill show that 32GB(4x8GB) F4-3200C16Q-32GTZB Matched Kit as compatible.

" rel="nofollow - Maybe I am mis-reading the list. On the ASrock website, under memory support list, if I sort by manufacturer, the 7th line lists F4-3200C16Q-32GTZ. What is the difference? Also, I am down to 1 or 2 with no difference.

I also noticed that keyboard is not powering up. Mean anything?

The B at the end means these sticks are a second iteration and thus carry differently binned chips on the sticks. Not compatible.

" rel="nofollow - Ok, my mistake. Is there a way to verify that there is not another problem before buying more? If I remove all memory will I atleast get an error shown on the monitor, or something to tell me that the MB is good?

" rel="nofollow - Unfortunately no. There isn't.

Any friend(s) that might help here in the way of DDR4?

A local computer shop test to swap some of their mem in would be a minimal charge to you. Just a thought .....

Big smile Hell, bring it over here to Arizona tonight, I'll be home and have scads of DDR4. Most compatible with your board too.

Merry Christmas Ken.

Unfortunately no in the way of help with the ram.

I haven't built any systems for a while and the tech is a lot different, but I am extremely puzzled by the fact that it appears that the MB is not powering up, for example, USB ports no power...keyboard does not power up, no signal at all from the graphics card, but the lights and fans on the card are running.

I wonder about the memory not being compatible. I use a set of G.SKILL F4-3200C16D-8GTZB in my Z170 Extreme7+ board, which is not listed in the Memory Support list, or in G.SKILL's Memory Configurator. Still, it is possible they aren't compatible. G.SKILL's memory list for both of our boards ends at 2800 speed DDR4 memory. I'm not sure what G.SKILL is implying by that.

When you use two DIMMs, which must be 8GB each, are they in the A1 and B1 slots? Every time you change the memory configuration, you should be clearing the UEFI/BIOS with the jumper on the board.

The USB ports won't get power until later in the POST process, after they pass their POST testing. Memory is done before the USB ports, so if that is failing, the USB ports will never get power. That seems to be the case.

No mention of the PSU model. Is it new? If not, have you used it in the recent past?

I would remove the video card, and just use the onboard graphics. Clear the UEFI/BIOS after removing the video card, use one DIMM in the A1 or B1 slot.

Tried all that, nominal charge to a local shop verified that I was right, bad MB. Memory, pwr supply, everything is all new and all different configurations tried to no avail prior to going to the shop.

Thanks
