" rel="nofollow - I installed a Xeon E5 2609 V4 CPU into X99 Extreme4, no video output, keyboard number locks were responsive and 5 short beeps was heard.

Is there a way to tell the BIOS version shipped with the motherboard? I suspect the BIOS version is recent enough. And since the keyboard is actually functional, can I do a BIOS upgrade without getting an old CPU?

You can ask here and receive further assistance.

To check the BIOS version on your board at the time of purchase all you need to do is look at the number printed on the white sticker on the BIOS chip.
