Hello everyone.

Problem description:
New build is starting with 00 code on motherboard. There is no beep, no video output, CPU is not getting hot, CPU fan is starting up occasionally(it usually starts 2-3 times when I remove power for few minutes).

What I've already tried
  • Moved set out of the case
  • reset BIOS (button and pin)
  • running on BIOS B
  • start just with cpu and cpu fan
  • removed heatsink
  • checked PSU voltages idle and under load
  • all cables are connected(using 4 pin connector for CPU power)
  • run full build with memory, HDD, GPU and CPU
  • reinstalled CPU
  • checked socket pin
Once when I was trying to run system with cpu only I got error 5x indicating lack of memory, after installing one stick error 00 returned..

Configuration:
  • AsRock z170 extreme4
  • i5 6500
  • Chieftec 400w GPS-400AA-101 A
  • Asus Nvidia 630GT (passive)
  • Corsair Vengeance 2x 8G
It all looks like CPU or Motherboard is faulty but I can't find good way to distinguish between two of them.

Thank you for any help provided.

PS: PSU is taken from my old set. Old piece of hardware but fully functional.

" rel="nofollow - Overlook plugging in the 8-pin CPU Power connector along the top of the board did we?

And I agree. You desperately need a new PSU.

Nope, I didn't. It's plugged in. I have 4 and 6 pin connector. On 4 there is error 00 and on 6 my PSU isn't starting up. I can only hear click inside PSU on reset and nothing happens.

Ps: PSU was running overclocked quad core q9300, 5 hdds, overclocked hd4850 and 4 ram sticks just fine.

Here, now, I'm going to highly suggest you take this to a computer repair shop.

The 6-pin is for PCIe graphics cards.
