Motherboard manufacturers really seem intent on reducing the number of usable PCI-E slots to the point where some only have two. I have a lot of peripherals and need as many slots as possible: capture card, firewire card for some older stuff, USB Gen 3.2 2x2 card, sound card...and maybe I'd like to get more. I'm on a Z270 Extreme Workstation right now so it's not a problem with four usable slots. But I'm looking at upgrading when Arrow Lake is released and I'll be lucky to get three three usable slots (the one next to the graphics card is not good as I have a two-slot card). So, I'm considering getting a PCI-E port multiplier card and filling that up with my more rarely used cards to gain the needed number of slots needed. I'm sure ASROCK does not officially support this, but has anyone tried and what were your results? Thanks.
