" rel="nofollow - I have set manual values for each Fan in the BIOS. My Fans are all 3 Pin.
All fans except CHA_FAN1 (Aux1) are working fine. I can even switch fans between the sockets and always the fan connected to Aux1 is running at 100%.

I already made sure that i set the correct values in BIOS, they are the same for all Fans (CPU Sensor, 0% when CPU is below 40°C).

Speedfan is showing CPU @ 30°C when idle, still the Aux1 Fan is always rotating with 900 RPMs.

What else can i do to slow down my Aux1 fan?

Thanks,
Piep

*edit: correct connector name CHA_FAN1

" rel="nofollow - Today i tested the AUX1 Fan connector with a 4 Pin Fan, same result (Fan is always running at 100%)

Bios Version is 1.30 (Beta)

Anybody here has this board and can confirm that this fan connector is working properly?

" rel="nofollow - Are you talking about CHA_FAN1? There is no fan header labled AUX1 on the board according to your user manual.

Yes that's the connector I'm talking about, sorry about the confusion.

*I edited my first post to make sure other people will find this thread when they search for CHA_FAN1.

It seems as if the CHA_FAN1 four pin header is four pin PWM only. The specs say CHA_FAN2 will auto detect three or four pin fans.

Depending upon the power/current rating of your three pin fans, you could use a two fan splitter cable on the CHA_FAN2 header. The CHA_FAN3 header could be used in that way too, when switch to DC mode.

Your CPU cooler has three pin fans, or four pin PWM?

It seems the Z270 Gaming K4 does not quite have the same features as the more expensive Z270 ASRock boards, including extensive controls on all the fan headers.

Personally, I prefer four pin PWM fans, and was sick of the limited fan speed range PWM fans have on three pin fan headers. My Z270 Gaming K6 board has only one three pin fan connected to the equivalent CHA_FAN3 header, set to DC mode, and its speed is controlled fine.

Thanks parsec!

i already tried an old 4pin fan without success, but after your post i tried my new cpu 4 pin fan and it is working now! i will replace the 3pin fan with a new pwm fan.

Resume:
CHA_FAN1: Only PWM (4 pin) fan control. DC fans (3 pin) will always rotate with 100%
CHA_FAN2: PWM (4 pin) and DC (3 pin) fan control support (automatic)
CHA_FAN3: PWM (4 pin), DC (3 pin) and water cooling fan control support. Need to select the correct mode in BIOS
