" rel="nofollow - I've had my current setup for a little over a year now, and it works great about 99% of the time. However, every so often when I reboot the system, I run into an issue with it not detecting my primary boot drive. I'll have to shut it down, and turn it back on for it to detect the drive again, and even then sometimes it doesn't always work. I sometimes have to do it a couple times.

Here's my equipment specs:

Intel i5-6400
EVGA 16GB DDR4-2400 PC4-19200
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD for boot
2 RAID5 arrays with 3 drives each, 2x(3x 2TB)
750-watt Corsair power supply

It gets annoying at times because I basically can't ever reboot my system unless I am at home, so I can't do Windows Updates during off-hours, or remotely. Running Windows 10 Professional, never have issues besides this one.

I'm not 100% sure on my BIOS firmware version, but according to the program in Windows, it is fully up-to-date.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

" rel="nofollow - Have you tried plugging your SSD into different SATA ports? Try to disconnect RAID HDDs and then boot, check if this goes without any problems. If fast boot or ultra fast in BIOS is enabled disable it and try to boot. That's my ideas for now.

Thanks for the ideas.

The hard part to diagnose it is it doesn't always happen. I rebooted yesterday after doing some updates and it went fine. I have moved the SSD to a different port, and replaced the cable. I haven't disconnected the RAID HDDs though, and I'll check if fast boot is enabled when I get home.

The issue isn't a "end of the world" issue, but it is an annoyance. I'm currently investigating software solutions instead of using the RAID.
