My oldish PSU provides a 2x4-pin ATX12V cable. It looks like a split-able 8pin cable and will fit into one of the 8-pin sockets.

The motherboard manual says "To use a 4 pin ATX power supply plug it along Pin1 and Pin 5"

Also:
"Connecting an ATX 12V 8-pin cable to ATX12V2 is optional".

So should I put both 4-pins into the ATX12V1 8-pin socket or split it and put one in each of the 8-pin sockets aligned with pins1 & 5?
