When this PC was built in early 2020, I setup RAID 1, using SATA drives.

1. Nearing capacity on the installed 1TB SATA RAID 1 volume.
2. Due to update to Windows 11.

For the above two reasons, leaning toward a fresh installation of Windows 11, on a RAID 1 volume, utilizing the 2 available M.2 slots.

QUOTE=ASRock_TSD] Hi peacepowers,

Thank you for your post.

There are two ways to build the RAID volume with nvme SSD.

Please refer to the below link to set up your RAID volume.

Also, We recommend removing other storage before creating the RAID volume.

All the best

I believe that its possible to :

1. Power down the PC.
2. Disconnect the existing SATA RAID drives,
3. install 2 NVME drives (of greater capacity, likely 2TB).
4. Launch BIOS, build a RAID 1 volume, using the instructions linked above.
5. Install Windows 11, using the drivers linked to from the above-mentioned instructions.

* My question being, *must* the NVME drives be manufactured by Intel?

Thank you,

Burkert

It is stipulated in the instructions and makes sense since you need to use IRST
(Intel Rapid Storage Technology) to set up the raid array. I don't have the components
to test it out but I suspect you may be restricted to (identical) intel drives.
