Sure, be sure both the 24 pin ATX power cable and the four pin CPU power cables are connected to the board. Both are required for the board and CPU to start.

Also, check that all the cable connections from the PC case switches and LEDs to the mother board header are correct. It is very easy to get them wrong, as well as the + and - connections of the connectors. I did that myself the other day, put them on wrong and nothing happens when pressing the power button.

Is the PSU new and never used or tested before? Or is the PSU old and possibly not working well?

If you put this board in a PC case that had a different board in it previously , the mother board standoffs might not be in the same locations, and an unused standoff could be shorting a connection on the bottom of the board.

Is this a new build, a new PC?

Are you trying to install Windows? Using a Windows disk from another PC?

You have not given us any information about your other hardware, or what version of Windows you are using, or if this is a new PC.

This is totally a new computer(not more than 5 months). And i have windows installed from the first(from where i had buyed they installed it for me). The problem is that when i press the switch on my pc case,it starts for few sec (say upto 15 -16) and then it turns off (it uses win7)

Please list all your parts, including power supply make and model.

At this point there is nothing we can suggest without knowing these details.

The PC was working, and now has this problem, and is broken.

Did you build it yourself, or did the shop build it for you? Or was it sold to you already built by a company like HP?

Your problem could be caused by many different things. If it is only 5 months old and you bought it as a complete PC, the shop should fix it for you under warranty.

Try another PSU. That is a bundled PSU and those are never very good, or should I say almost always terrible. Given you are not able to power up the system properly that is where you should start. If you do buy a new one make sure you get a quality brand. You shouldn't need more than a 500w unit for that system. You can probably get away with a 400w with your setup but I would spend a tiny bit more and go for a decent 500w (the price difference is usually very small). Also make sure it is 80+ certified, bronze or gold rated.

If the board is powering up with the RAM removed and will not power with it in then that would definitely be something to test. Try some different RAM in the board (borrow some if you can).

It is a good sign that you receive the "no RAM beep code". Also check your RAM slots and make sure there is not dirt or debris in them.

This black ball like object in the DRAM slot, where is it in the slot? Do you only see it in one of the slots?

All memory sticks have a slot in the bottom to index with the notch in the memory stick. This black ball is something else?

Also, if something is in the DRAM slot, it would not let the memory stick fully seat in the slot. You should be able to see that the memory is not fully seated in the slot.

What is the full model number of your memory?

" rel="nofollow - I think it was a waste of time discovering what was in the RAM slot, since the PC worked with it the for one year and five months with it in there, right?

The PC has two different models of memory in it? A Starlight and Dynet memory stick? The PC apparently worked with that memory mix in the past, so mixing the memory is not the problem. That is normally not a good thing to do.

Let's start again. Obviously something broke. The problem is finding what is broken.

Try using one piece of memory at a time. Remove one of the memory sticks, and try to start the PC. If that does not work, remove the memory stick and try using the other one.

If that does not help, something else is broken. You can try disconnecting your drives from the PC for example. You never told us what drive(s) you use, not that it should matter. If you have any other devices connected to the board, try disconnecting them and starting the PC.

It's not good that you've had so many problems with broken power supplies. A power supply failing can damage a mother board.

Have you ever tried clearing the BIOS/CMOS with the jumper on the board? It's at the bottom of the board below the white PCIe slot, with the label CLRMOS1 above it. Do you know how to do this?

Did you change anything at all before the problem started?

Oh man ! I had made a big mistake actually. When I opened the slot where the processor is, I found that there were 20 pins broken inside. All twisted and bent and crumpled up. But I can't understand that how did it happen???? Truly reasoning coz I didn't even touched that part for once also. Then how????

But today I again opened that PC and hoped that it would start up again. I started the CPU and was shocked to see, that the computer runs after so many months so after a couple of minutes I was noticing it and heard a strange sparking sound from the processor portion and the CPU was running. I thought open the fan and take a look, and found that my Intel chipset got burnt and turn into black and the processor pins made a bad smell. Which meant that it was wasted
