Subject: Intel Clock Issue C2550D4I C2750D4I rma process ?

" rel="nofollow - Hello supporters,
I'm using a asrock C2550D4I mainboard for my homeserver. In January Intel announced a filed notice which says that there is a clock flaw with the C2000 series.
Another source says C2550 C2750 are affected by that bug.
What does asrock do ? Is there a rma process to get a new one ? Or Do I have to wait until it fails ?
best regards, sebastian

You are not the first person to ask about this situation.
Until Intel decides what they will do about this situation, mother board manufactures have very few options. All they could do is replace the board with another with the same flawed processor in it.
Since the processor in this board is considered an "embedded" part (cannot be replaced by the user), Intel is legally involved in the decision about what will be done.
Intel may have said a problem exists with these processors, but they have done nothing beyond that. In the past Intel had a problem with a chipset that caused a recall of the boards that used it, and a replacement chipset was provided to mother board manufactures. So far that has not happened in this case.
