I have ordered the http://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Fatal1ty%20Z270%20Gaming-ITXac/index.asp#Specification" rel="nofollow - Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard from newegg.com and eagerly awaiting delivery. My planned build will make use of all available SATA connectors (x6) for storage.

The http://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Fatal1ty%20Z270%20Gaming-ITXac/index.asp#Specification" rel="nofollow - Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming-ITX/ac  product page (as at 14 March 2017) has the 1x SATA Express 10 Gb/s connector referencing a footnote "Support to be announced"

If the SATA Express connector is supported I am hopeful it can be used with the motherboard's 1x USB 2.0 Header and http://www.asrock.com/mb/spec/card.asp%3FModel=Front%20USB%203.1%20Panel" rel="nofollow - ASRock Front USB 3.1 Panel .

I wonder if using the the SATA Express connector might limit the number of supported SATA ports. Any information about the SATA Express connector from ASRock or ASRock customers would be appreciated.

I am in the exact same boat as you. I did my build last week, and I ordered 1x  http://www.asus.com/Motherboard-Accessory/USB-31-FRONT-PANEL/" rel="nofollow - http://www.asus.com/Motherboard-Accessory/USB-31-FRONT-PANEL/  Asus USB 3.1 Gen 2 Front Panel because the Z270 SuperCarrier has 0x 3.1 Gen 2 type A, and I want to use my

I tried to plug a USB key into my front panel. While I was able to see the USB Key's name show up briefly for a second in My Computer, I was unable to access its contents, and the drive eventually disappeared.

Please, when will the Sata Express for Z270 SuperCarrier be supported??

And @Samven, each Sata Express port count as 2 of the number of Sata ports listed on the # of Sata ports available in the specification, and on the Z270 SuperCarrier, support is not working!
