" rel="nofollow - Hi, just a question...

What makes is the difference between Taichi and K4 Pro compared to the Killer SLI/ac and K4 Gaming that allows the Taichi/K4P to run 3200mhz RAM and the Killer/K4G to top out at 2933 or less?

It looks like they run different BIOS sets, Taichi/K4P are at 1.56 and Killer/K4G are at 1.63.

Thanks!

The Taichi and Gaming Professional both have an external clock generator to enable BCLK overclocking. This is used in conjunction with memory settings to get speeds up.

Lower tier boards like the Gaming K4 and Killer SLI do not have the added external clock generator (Hyper BCLK Engine II). This is a high end overclocking feature ASRock has added to it's premium X370 boards.

So the Killer and G K4 are stuck at 2933 MHz max.?

How do you access the BCLK?  Is it the PCIe clock?
