| Hi, I've purchased the ASRock AB350 PRO4 and from what it's advertising it says it can overclock rams up to 3200mhz, But I can't seem to run my ram's XMP profile which is at 3000 (2993~) or even overclock it all. I'm running the BIOS version v1.44. the ram I'm using is CMK16GX4M2B3000C15. Anyone else having trouble overclocking their rams with this motherboard, if not could you let me know what settings you have enabled/disabled, Thanks. |

I have the X370 Fatal1ty Gaming Pro and have not been able to get 3200MHz to work on my RAM. I have the G.Skill 32GB 2400MHz kit (F4-2400C15D-32GFXR). Best I've been able to manage is 2933MHz. With the latest BIOS (1.6) for my board, I was able to tighten my timings. 18-17-17-43 at 1.35v. I've seen some people get higher speeds by increasing the PCIe clock, but that creates issues for your video card and M.2. I couldn't make it work. First, you need to update to the latest UEFI version, 2.20, just released. Question for you, do you have the Instant Flash UEFI update option available in the Tools screen? If you do, I highly recommend you use the Instant Flash method to update your UEFI, rather than the Windows update method. Please read the instruction for Instant Flash, by clicking on the blue BIOS link on the UEFI download page. Normally in the UEFI, in the OC Tweaker screen there is an entry for the DRAM Configuration screen, that allows you to configure the memory's speed and timings. I'm assuming the 2.20 UEFI version will have added that screen by now. Please let us know if you have that screen available after updating to the 2.20 version, or if you have that screen now with the 1.44 version UEFI. If you do get the DRAM Configuration screen, you can try enabling the XMP profile. Given what we so far know about the Ryzen memory controller, there are some differences between it and the Intel memory controllers. For example, the Ryzen memory controller does not support a 3000 speed setting. It does support 2933, which must be used instead of 3000. That speed will need to be set manually. I suggest setting the memory speed to 2933, set the DRAM Voltage to 1.35V, and have all of the other memory settings set to Auto. Both the X370 Killer SLI/ac and X370 Killer SLI boards have their own web pages, and both pages are accessible from the main ASRock mother board page. That is simply a safety feature just in case one board's UEFI update differs from the other. This means attempting to install the AC board's UEFI version on the standard version, or vice versa, will result in the update being cancelled or the UEFI update file will not be detected as appropriate for the board. Regarding the DDR4 memory speed specifications for these boards, that is still being worked out. The Ryzen platform is far from being mature and perfectly defined regarding memory speed support. AMD is still in the process of providing updates and information to mother board manufactures for higher speed memory speed support. Ryzen's memory speed support also depends upon the memory manufactures providing compatible products at the higher DDR4 speeds. The same thing happened with Intel's Skylake processors and chipset boards. It took a while before compatible DDR4 memory with speeds above 3000 became common, as well as the support from the board's UEFI/BIOS were in place. Not to mention, the entire Ryzen processor line is not even available yet. Most of it is still to come. Right now, you are all early adopters of Ryzen systems, and you need to keep that in mind and be patient. The source of all information about Ryzen comes from AMD only. a user/pc parts dealer here in the uk has been playing with this board a lot user = 8pack on overclockers.uk i actually asked him yesterday about ram for this board and what he has found to work best his reply was corsiar 3000 and team group brands he says they all go to 2666 easily and should mostly be stable at 3000 but i would suggest rather than click the xmp to actually try setting the timings manually eg read the label on the stick that say EXAMPLE cl15/15/15/35 or SIMILAR then enter these in your bios manually dont forget to adjust ram volts from the stock 1.2volt to 1.35 volt you may be lucky and it boot stable you may not in which case 'loosen' the timngs manually eg if label said 15/15/15 try 16/16/16 or even 17/17/17 the higher the number the 'looser' the timings and the easier it is for the bios to try and make it work it also may help to adjust your SOC volts up to 1.00 volts (DOUBLE CHECK YOU ENTER this correctly) there are quite a lot of youtube vids to be found showing people adjusting the ram timings maybe watch one or two to feel comfortable before looking at yours ------------- [url=https://valid.x86.fr/jpg250]  [/url]3800X, powercolor reddevil vega64, gskill tridentz3866, taichix370, evga750watt gold |

Well that latest update was poop. I went from 4.60 to the latest 5.50. Before, I was able to get my RAM to do 2666MHz using the XMP profile (it's rated to go up to 3000MHz) But now, after the BIOS upgrade... I'm stuck back at 2133MHz. Any ideas? |

Tell us your specs and somebody maybe has an idea. And it is always a good idea to notify the bios settings (or making screenshots of the relevant bios pages) before updating the bios. | Resetting to 2133 just meanst the bios has loaded safe settings so that you can get in and change things. What has worked for me in this situation is upping my SOC voltage to 1.15, dram voltage to 1.35, loading XMP profile and then setting the speed to 2133 before saving and rebooting. Once booted at XMP but with 2133 speed, I start bumping up the speed one notch at a time until it fails again. Good luck. |

I reset the BIOS to default settings after the upgrade. Here's my current Voltages  So I can just up that VDDCR_SOC to around 1.15 and try again? DRAM Voltage seems to have upped itself once I loaded the XMP profile. Here's what I tried to set in the BIOS:  (DRAM Frequency was on AUTO cos it was the only way it was gonna boot, any other settings makes the computer keep rebooting - meaning it didn't work and defaulted back to 2133) Here's the info when I boot into windows. It looks like the everything I tried to set in the BIOS got ignored completely :(  THANK YOU for giving my advice guys. |

Where it says XMP #1  It has the correct timings for my RAM, but as you can see in the previous CPU-Z screenshot, all that was ignored :( |

i think you are confusing the system LOAD XMP settings : is your ram profiles LOAD DRAM profile : is generic corsair profile set LOAD DRAM profile to auto if you want to load your xmp -------------

| Reread my post. Up your soc voltage. Load xmp, then lower speed to 2133. save and reboot. You should rebooot with xmp, but at 2133. Then start bumping speed up one notch at a time and rebooting until it fails. Did you even try to follow directions? |

CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 is not running out of the box with Ryzen just by selecting a profile and frequency. You also have to play with sub timings and other settings. I own this RAM too and got it to work with 2933 Mhz. But i had sudden reboots or stucks on the desktop even after long stress tests and some days running without problems. Switching to 2800 Mhz by keeping the other settings was successfull. Bios 2.x, 3.10 and 4.40, DRAM 1.37V Important was to set CL=16, not 15! Ok. My bad but you didn't make that clear. When it reboots, set as shown, is it doing the triple reboot thing then restarting with safe defaults, or is it keeping your settings, including the loaded xmp profile? |

I tried resetting everything to default again (because of all the recent settings I was messing around with) and once rebooted, went straight back to XMP and viola! It worked. Then I kept pushing it incrementally upwards from the 2133 until it hit 2866MHz before it does the continuous reboot. So far, so happy. Thanks for the help guys. Looks like this one sorted itself out eventually. Might try changing the CL as you say Ray62 and try the 3000MHz again :D |

i guess best option is to either add volts or get thaiphoon to identify what chips are they and run RDC to see if those settings work for you since its established that you cant run xmp with your kits -------------

Just a quick reminder, you run 64MB, 4 sticks of duak_rank means even more difficult to achieve 3000mhz, because Ryzen IMC gen-1 official support 2400mhz only for 4 sticks duak_rank. Support 2666mhz for 2 sticks dual_rank.
