I'be bought Taichi 6.04 and right away install fresh BIOS 2.00. So I'm sure patch notes for this version don't contain any mention about AGESA. But today i've revisited Asrock site to checj whether new version of BIOS available. And I discovered that BIOS patch notices changed. Now it contain string: 1.Update AGESA to 1.0.0.4a But if i check installed BIOS with AIDA64 I see that it have only 1.0.0.3 version. So it's mistake in description or support stuff have to replace old file on site.

just checked mine
mine is identical to yours shows as 1003
im not that bothered to be honest its stable and in about a months time we get a fully upgraded bios with much more attention to ram (1005) its not worth the risk to flash a basically same or similar bios in my opinion just to test if its got the extra 6ns latency that 1004 has (we may even already have it ,and its reported wrong in aida)

This has/is discussed in another Thread.
I am following up with ASRock BIOS Engineers and will post in that thread when they reply back.

no it's not so, because this bios 2.00 was uploaded on site 6.04. And on that moment patch notes didn't contain any info about new AGESA. It was changed (description) more time later

it did however say at that time agesa (without a version number) and support ryzen 5
i did carefully read the description when i downloaded it
i do agree at that time it did not mention agesa 1004

so its either incorrect label on bios download page and it should not read 1004
or
it is indeed agesa 1004 but the bios signature hasnt been changed to correctly state its 1004

It's a top tier mobo, but still doesn't have update for new AGESA. And still contain error in description of last BIOS. People said me not buy Asrock production, but I hoped that it's only rumors.

it's not so because memory latency is not fixed as on other motherboards

Pretty sure as well bios 2.0 is AGESA 1.0.0.3 and the code string ends in xxxx111C which is the same code MSI was using in their beta 1.4x bios that they pulled because it could potentialy damage boards.
A mod or ASRock rep needs to investigate this and confirm one way or another because ASRock should be using AGESA 1.0.0.4a or 1.0.0.4b code now which is what all other vendors are using and NOT still be using code 1.0.0.3 which has potentialy hardware bricking bugs.

Support ignore us. We bought sup-top board, but there is no support.

That would explain why I didn't see any latency improvements that others were talking about.

We need new BIOS with new AGESA and support CR2, as many another vendors MB already have it

it would appear they answered in another thread unrelated to the agesa question
and that answer seems to be it is 1004 but is incorrectly reported as 1003

I've written to support and today they answered me. Briefly: "We forgot to update string in BIOS file that identifying AGESA version. Don't look at this." But to be honest I don't believe. I think support don't have enough time to all this work with bioses, agesa, memory compatibility issues etc. Marketing considerations don't allow to say client truth. But such situation is bad, it decline users loyalty.

That is the gods honest truth. It took me three days of major Time Zone differences to make that point to them. It's good to read they answered you correctly.
MSI is now having this same issue over on their forums. One User even stated he had read that the file(s) had actually come from AMD with the incorrect versioning stated with in.
Regardless, I have extracted the microcode and compared it side by side to a KNOWN 1.0.0.4b and this I state above is correct concerning versioning.
So let's move along concerning this and cease with the conspiracy theories. It doesn't make anyone appear smart just spouting off rumors, whining, and uttering conjecture.

" rel="nofollow - nocturnal it would seem that in fact gigabyte are ALSO having 1004 reported in aida as 1003 but in fact it is 1004 "quote"
We find in the latest BIOS dated new versions for these three components: - AGESA: 1.0.0.4a
- Microcode: 800111C
- SMU: 25.70.0
AMD confirmed to us that microcode 800111C brings well the fix for the bug of the FMA3.
The AGESA 1.0.0.4a (which you will also find under the notation
1.0.0.3a in some manufacturers like Gigabyte) brings on its side the
improvement of latency.
We do not know what the EMS update does, it does not seem to correct
existing bugs like the fact that we sometimes find ourselves with
voltage readings (more precisely VID) blocked at 1.55V by example.

please follow the link
it is also mentioning
DRAM Gear Down Mode
i am just about to look in bios for this (apperently it may enable to select or let the ram auto select 2T) i wont know until i have a look ,try and find the setting , and test its effect
the linked article says its enabled in early bios but may not be in later THIS may explain why some people have had slower ram in say version2 bios than when they used version 1.9X

" rel="nofollow - There is no such option. So we need 2 major options: 1. dram gear down mode - as I understand its choosing CR2? am I right? 2. ProcODT option - Asus already has it. it allow use dual rank memory at higher freqs

" rel="nofollow - Dear Nocturnal,
Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.
The BIOS structure of BIOS P2.00 is exactly v1.0.0.4a, and it?™s also confirmed by AMD.
Because the 3rd party tool read the AGESA code version from the specific strings and the strings hasn?™t been modified as v1.0.0.4a, the 3rd party tool just show the AGEDA code as the old version ?œv1.0.0.3??
In the next BIOS, we would modify the strings in BIOS and make sure it?™s matched with the exact AGESA code version in BIOS.
Thanks!
All the best, ASRock TSD
