" rel="nofollow - Anyone know of a good reason not to use the drivers provided by intel instead of asrock?  They are updated much more frequently

No reason I'm aware of, I've done that (used Intel's latest driver versions) for years on many different Intel chipset boards. The board model really makes no difference.

The only thing that could be said is that ASRock has not validated the new driver versions themselves. All the Intel specific hardware drivers are provided by Intel anyway, as is true for the drivers for any specific hardware manufacture used on a board.

I have seen a few driver versions from Intel that had issues in the past (IRST RAID driver), which were later removed from their download pages. That is very rare, and I cannot think of one example of that in the last several years.

Given the potential for a bad driver version, mother board manufactures tend to wait before immediately posting the new versions on a board's download page. Unfortunately, users blame the mother board manufacture rather than the source of the driver when issues occur. I cannot blame the mother board manufactures for this policy.
