Me again,
I got a new 32" monitor (ONN FHD from Wally-World, $150 on sale--nice display for cheap). Connecting it to my 970M Pro3 mobo via a GEforce GT-740 card, alongside an Acer 27" DVI connected monitor, I find the BIOS (AMI v1.60) does not recognize the HDMI connected monitor, only the DVI display?
Not a big deal, as once booted Mint 21.3 sees the HDMI monitor and let's me set it as the primary display; though I was taken aback when after first setting up the HDMI display and booting without the DVI display connected I got only a blank screen!
I've searched online and been through the BIOS setup several times, am I missing some setting in there? Can't find any info about the GT-740 (configuring a default monitor, etc.) either.
Any thoughts?

I guess the answer is no then--I wonder what some poor slob with only an HDMI monitor would do?

I found that when Compatibility Support Mode is disabled the mobo boots to the HDMI display, My BIOS based Linux won't boot but I'm working on that...
