The memory QVL for the AB350 Gaming K4 states the following:

Memory QVL

Note1: Each RAM whose frequency is 3000 will downgrade to 2933 with Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4.
Note2: Each RAM whose frequency is 2800 will downgrade to 2666 with Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4.

So I bought the G.Skill F4-3200C14D-16GFX memory and once everything was installed and posted I tried to load the XMP profile but no go. Just rebooted and set the memory clock back to 2400.

The XMP states 3200mhz with 14-14-14-34 latencies.

The latency settings are ok, but the machine won't boot with the memory clock past 2666.

From the QVL I should be able to get 2933 out of this RAM shouldn't I?

Anybody have any tips or suggestions?

Thanks.

EDIT: uefi/bios version I have is 2.5...

Some board + memory combos don't like XMP.

Reset the CMOS, enter the BIOS and choose 3200MHz as the DRAM MHz.

Let us know how that goes.

Thanks. I'll give it a go with the CMOS clear.
The main reason I bought this ram is that there was a review on this mobo on newegg stating that it loaded the profile and worked straight away... :/

Holy crap it works.

I re-read the tips thread here and it states "A2 and B2" for slots.
I don't understand why this is so, but it freakin' works.

Loading the XMP sets my latency and speed as expected:  https://valid.x86.fr/qjg3e2" rel="nofollow - https://valid.x86.fr/qjg3e2

If anyone wants to enlighten me I'll read it!

Cheers.

I wrote the Tips Sticky you read. I wrote it partly because no one reads their User Manual Wink

See pg22 of the User Manual you received.

And here also

Amazing things, User Manuals Tongue

I'm happy to hear you feel good of ASRock and G.Skill.
