I posted a message here a week ago but got no replies. Perhaps the fact that I gave the wrong BIOS version was a factor ? Here is what I should have written...

A friend has an ASROCK G31M-S motherboard. I want to enable AHCI mode for her but cannot find the setting in the BIOS. The chipset is P35/G33/G31 Southbridge model 82801GB (ICH 7/R) The CPU is an Intel Pentium E5400. The BIOS is version 1.8 dated 7th August 2009.

IF this model offers AHCI then where can I find it please? If not then I will need to update the BIOS. Does anyone here know which BIOS's for this motherboard give one an AHCI option please ?

Thanks. Regards, John.

The ICH7 edit add (Base) does not support AHCI. Sorry but no BIOS update can fix that.
