7 min occt stress test(OCCT)

But when overclocking the cpu to 3.9 ghz 1.35v I get these temperatures

The VRM touches the 80 °c and the 70 + ° C cpu are normal temperatures for liquid cooling?

I think that's pretty normal my r7 1700 gets pretty hot too with voltages above 1.3v. However to get useful information about your system you need to wait much longer than 3 minutes. I'm pretty sure if you let it run 1 hour temperatures will rise at least another 5°C

" rel="nofollow - well the vrm would get quite hot with liquid cooling to be honest as you by cooling with a block take away its actual intended air flow (in the same if less extreme with aftermarket heatsink/fan combos)

its quite common to place a vrm directed fan inside cases to blow air directly over the vrm heatsinks
or pay very good attention to case air flow path to make the front/rear fans force the air path to flow over/thru the vrm heatsinks

but aside from that depending on volts and case design its not looking too extreme

on a side note i also have the r7 1700 which seems to run ok in mine at 3.9 but with 1.306 volts
have you tried lowering the vcore ?
(half a volt could indeed make things much cooler)

" rel="nofollow - datyob not everybody is lucky enough to have stable 3.9ghz overclock with 1700@1.306v.
Mine does 3.8ghz at ~1.35 smt enabled, 3.9ghz without smt.

Denroth your cpu is using almost 2.5 times the power while running 3.9ghz, no wonder temps rise?
And btw, that Tdie temp is cpu internal temperature, not the temperature your cooler touches, which is less. Eventually, given enough time, these two temperatures will be close to each other.

which might be WHY i asked

it was just a question based on what info he has given us
to which i dont think your reply stating 1.30 is lucky  helped much to be honest ( it dosnt seem that lucky compared to most people can get )
the point is has he tried lower vcore which would help lower temps all round
i thought it was a good question to ask and him try (if not tried yet)
