" rel="nofollow - I want to connect the rear fan on CHA_FAN3 and run in DC mode.
I made the changes in the BIOS under HW Monitor but the fan doesn't change, instead it runs at nearly 100% all the time.
I tried all settings including Custom mode.
The two front fans are connected to CHA_FAN1-2 and they respond to similar changes as they should.
Tested with another fan to check that if it's the header that's causing the problem.
But the result get the same, is it faulty motherboard?

See my recently updated post on the same subject. You can't use that header for a 3-pin fan.

Dear keacques,

Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.

For X370 Taichi, there are three chassis fan connectors, CHA_FAN1, CHA_FAN2 and CHA_FAN3.
CHA_FAN1 and CHA_FAN2 could control both 3pin and 4pin fan, but CHA_FAN3 could only control 4pin fan.
As your system, please install a 4pin fan on CHA_FAN3 to control it.
If your fan is 3-pin, it may not able to get control of it.
Here is the specification as below.

Thanks!

All the best,

Hi,
I have met the same problem, but I have also tried connecting 3pin fan to CHA1, and no matter how I adjust in BIOS, the fan is always running in full speed.
My x370 taichi BIOS version is 5.1, which is the latest version by now.
Please help.
