Do any of you mods have any more info on the latest v 7.40 UEFI than : Improve dram comparability?!

I just got my G.Skill down to 15,15,15,35,1T@3200 and am weary of dram compatibility improvements.LOL

Yeah, yeah, I know don't fix it if it isn't broken but 7.30 also updated the Intel RST to 15.2.without any mention and the RAID array doesn't break any more with a CLR CMOS Big smile

So,...what other goodies are not mentioned? Like the Intel MEI exploit fix for instance?

Never mind 7.40 blue screened with the same memory settings in Realbench 2.44 stress test - page fault Ouch

Where did that 7.40 version come from? Worth it for the IRST 15.2 Option ROM alone IMO, if that is the fix of the PCIe RAID array not failing on a CMOS clear.

My Z270 board has kept the SATA mode set to RAID after a CMOS clear, and the PCIe Remapping options are left alone too. I don't recall if that happens on our Z170 board, been a while since I used it. I could any time...

Memory compatibility is such a generic term, what does it even mean? Could be for different models of memory, rather than better operation of current memory. Most high speed DDR4 memory is at its limit with its XMP profile, nothing can make it work at lower timings except maybe extreme voltages, including VCCIO and VCCSA.

Just clicked the Memory Support List of this board, and the result is nothing is shown at all. Just a temporary bug, or... all DDR4 is compatible now!! Wink

From 7.30 for certain we could CLR CMOS without losing our RAID arrays. The memory compatible 7.40 is just that,...a wider range of modules I guess. Didn't notice any MEI or RST updates so back to 7.30.

I have my memory in A2 and B2 with XMP profile enabled using the 15,15,15,35, tRFC 278@1T timings from the dram tweaker with AUTO volts (1.368) without issue. The voltage is helping for sure. Big smile

Just an up date for those wanting to use 7.40.

I had to change overclock strategies to fixed 1.33v@LvL1 from offset 115mv to be stable at 4.6GHz@3200MHz with the same previous memory timings. This is on BIOS B,...BTW. So nice to have two BIOS chips Clap
