" rel="nofollow - Hi,

I am trying to update my Asrock Z87 Pro4 motherboard BIOS, but the screen keeps freezing with "Instant Flash" showing, and with the update file name showing below. Mouse clicks and keyboard presses does not do anything.

The current BIOS version is 1.20.

Yes, the USB stick containing the update file is formatted in FAT32, and is plugged into the USB slot next to LAN port.

I tried with both Audio on and off (F4 key).

I tried with both update files for 1.50 and 2.30, but same issue persists.

Any ideas on how I can bypass these issues?

When I try the Windows version for 2.30, computer does not start up... it gets stuck on the ASRock splash screen.

BIOS update from internet in UEFI does not work... it says it cannot connect, even though LAN cable is plugged in and there are no connection issues in Windows.

All tips would be appreciated on how I can update my BIOS.

Thanks!

" rel="nofollow - Hello,

I encountered the same issue on a Z87 Extreme 6 not so long ago. I made a thread here: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=5214&title=z87-extreme-6-bios-update-not-working

Maybe you can check there to see if some of the steps I took solve your issue.

I suggest you check with CPU-Z that your board is indeed a Z87 Pro4. As pointed by a moderator, some boards have inconsistencies with hardware/revisions/names.

Then if it is not working, you should contact the ASRock support proper to your region by mail, and link them this thread.

You cannot use the Internet Flash because the IP of their servers have changed, and the older BIOS version you have likely does not have the new IP registered.
