Subject: PCI-E Bifurcation Support on X99e-ITX

Hi there,
I read from another thread on this forum that the x99e-itx supports bifurcation. Thread confirmed by ASROCK_TSD: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=355&title=pcie-bifurcation-in-z97eitxac

However, I have not been able to get it to work and was wondering how I can, is a new bios required?

Products I have tried are, this one failed to show anything.

http://www.amazon.com/Supermicro-RSC-R2UT-2E8R-RISER-PASSIVE-2-PCIE/dp/B0037KAE2O/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1438139413&sr=8-3-fkmr0&keywords=supermicro+pci+explitter" rel="nofollow - http://www.amazon.com/Supermicro-RSC...+pci+explitter

I have also tried this one, also failed to show any graphics card display.

http://www.ameri-rack.com/ARC2-PELY423-C7_m.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.ameri-rack.com/ARC2-PELY423-C7_m.html

This one has an active PLX chip but also failed to work:  http://www.acmemicro.com/Product/13546/Supermicro-RSC-R2UG-A2E16-A-LHS-Active-PCI-E-2U-Riser-Card?c_id=356" rel="nofollow - http://www.acmemicro.com/Product/135...-Card?c_id=356

There is a group of us at hardForum that have an ongoing thread to try to get this to work but any help from the ASROCK team would be appreciated because it does seem like a new BIOS is required to turn this feature on.

I have PM'ed Asrock_TSD but have yet to hear back although I did get an email back from the system that he read my PM.

C'mon ASROCK, you guys made such an awesome MOBO, now let us unlock its full potential!

My build will be using the 2690 v3, 2 x 970 GTX short reference with EK water block all in a 5L cube. :)

Does the new BIOS enable x4x4x4x4 bifurcation, or is it just x8x8?

Hi,
Just following up on this thread.  Is PCIe bifurcation supported in the new 1.40 BIOS?

Thanks!

ASrock TSD, would it be possible to have PCIe bifurcation support for the X99e-ITXac board added to the latest BIOS?

Thank you!

Hello,
The 1.20E beta bios does not support 16GB DIMMs so is of no use for me to test bifurcation unless I downgrade my memory. Can you please respond to the multiple users asking for pci-e bifurcation to be exposed in the latest bios? Alternatively as a stopgap solution can u patch the 1.20E to work with 16GB DIMMs at the very least?
Thank you

Hello,

may I kindly point to my very same problem for the X99 OC Formula board. It has basically the same chipset and still lane bifurcation is not even an option in the current BIOS. Help is very much appreciated as we are trying to make an ASRock quad ultra M2 card work which needs 4 x4 PCIe 3.0.

Please ...

For the files: I had to replace the ASRock board with a Supermicro, where everything works just as expected.
