its on v2.40 Tongue

first thoughts ............

i opted to reset all bios back to defaults before flashing (good advice guys)
may i say when performing the actual flashing it really took a very long time .....considerably longer than usual bios flashing were talking maybe going on for nearly 4-5 mins
allthough when finished the restart was much fasting than previous 30 second long panicy delays were used to after reset cmos etc
i then entered bios directly checked whats changed etc left it all at default and rebooted into bios again (ive read to do this with ryzen)
save an exited again and was going to let it boot direct to windows
now it performed its own double boot here
e.g. it looked like it cleared bios and was ready to jump to windows log in but rebooted itself once more (i let it do its thing) and second time it went into windows

AND HERE I AM ..................STOCK ! Shocked

off to play with bios now and test the usual overclock is stable eg 3.9 ghz
i will probably quickly test the ram first (it hasnt been an issue at all since first bios flash day one on version 1.6) ram is gskill f4-3200c15d-16gtz

well that didnt go well
3600 cl 16 and 2T fail to post
3433 cl 16 and 2T fail to post
it was just a quick test to be honest (copied another guys settings based on taichi and same ram as me )
due to lack of time and the fact its not going to make a huge difference to myself (it was bragging rights Wink that i tried it anyway) i will revert back to 3200 and cl14 1T

just going to go do a quick cpu clock to 3.9 to test its still stable as it was with older bios (v2.0)
then play some games to test stability (in my own lazy way haha)

Quote Austin Powers: "Yeah, Baby, Yeah!" LOL
Gskill Ram sticks running on stock speed of 3200 and stock timings (or at least 14-14-14-36). Nice one!
Settings: XMP Profile 1, Timing Auto

I´m running these:
https://www.alternate.de/G-Skill/DIMM-32-GB-DDR4-3200-Kit-Arbeitsspeicher/html/product/1283799?

Evo still recognized by the board. I must admit I haven´t installed any game yet.
Now waiting for a Vega card and my build is completely finished Wink

Good job on the Taichi, ASrock.

" rel="nofollow - Good update, but I hoped for better:

I'm using four sticks of Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 (two dual-channel kits, 32GB total size).
On bios 2.0 the maximum I could achieve was 2666 and SOC needed +0.1V offset. There is marked improvement after upgrading to bios 2.4, but still no 3200.

3066 seems to be stable on new bios even at CR=1T, but testing is in progress. I noticed something weird however. If I try 3200 I get the famous boot loop, after which it starts at the default 2133. But after refusing to POST at 3200, I cannot seem to make it boot again at 3066 or even lower, so I have to reset the cmos. Thus, I believe the bios is hampering my attempts to reach 3200, because after a unsuccessful try it simply disregards the changes that I make at the subsequent attempts (increasing SOC and DRAM voltages, playing with timings). Anyone experiencing this odd behaviour? Or am I doing something wrong here?

after failed boot
let it cycle beep beep beep until boots bios
then hit setup defaults/safe settings and reboot to bios
you can then try another ram setting no need to clear the cmos

if you dont reset to defaults it will keep trying the overclock falied ram speed
(its just a quicker way than resetting cmos)

" rel="nofollow - Hello fellow taichi users here is my situation: on 2.30 bios i has memory 2400(auto) and all stresstests good no blue screens and such. On 1.0.0.6 2.40 bios i COULD MANAGE TO BOOT ON NORMAL SETTINGS( kingston hyper x savage 3000 at 2933). BUT stress tests failed. Even during simple work i get blue screens. On 2400(auto) i also get blue screens. So what should i do? Roll back to 2.30 or play with 1t/2t and gear down?

try manually entering the exact timings from the ram sticker (this may be different to what the bios is auto setting)
next set the SOC volts to 1,1
enable 2t
and try that

I'm getting the same results as with the Beta Bios (2.34/2.36). My 2x16GB G.skill TridentZ F4-3200C16D-32GTZKW ram rated for 16-18-18-38 can reach 3066 (16-16-16-37). Will not post at 3200 no matter what I try. Keep in mind that for AGESA 1.0.0.4a and before, the max it would go was 2400. Command Rate 1 or 2 doesn't help matters for me so I just leave it at 1.

be happy that u can run with 3000 , u have 16gb rams.

what u can try give your cpu 1,85-1,20 vcore with 3,8 ghz ( 3,6-3,8ghz sweetspot of ryzen )with 1.1 soc voltage less  OC more dram speed.

3,8ghz 110W
3,9ghz 155W

that is 45W more 4 only 100mhz

and that is with a liquid cooler if u running with air u reach 180W because u need more vcore

cool stuffClap
with beta one I knew I can run 3333 with my 2x16GB RAM so this time after enabling XMP I went straight 3333Mhz setting, 1.385v for dram, Soc 1.0, 60 Ohm, gear and power down disabled, command rate 1.
I may do some memtest later

quick update 3333 for ram wasn't stable, it would even freeze the bios and forced me to reset. Also 3200 with 12-12-12 or 14-12-12-12 was a no go, so have it "standart" at 3200 14-14-14-34 which is what we wanted right but a pitty that further overclocking doesn't work
still finally we got pretty much sorted

" rel="nofollow - Well, since it looks like my other posts was purged I'm just going to post the same thing.

My ram, Corsair Vengeance LED CMU16GX4M2C3200C16 (SK Hynix), went from being able to do 2666Mhz at 18-18-18-36 to being unable to do anything over 2133mhz 15-15-15-36. It doesn't matter what timings I choose, it will not boot past 2133mhz with the AGESA 1006 update, and responds even worse when I switch the command rate from 1T to 2T where it won't boot at 2133mhz.

Voltage is at 1.35, which I have played with up to 1.45, SoC is at 1.1, which I have played with up to 1.2.

Nothing. Works.

Did I just manage to pick the absolute worst ram available?

another update here
after 12 hrs switched off/total off
the cold boot issue returned with /14/14/14/14 timings (its a bit better than earlier bios which wouldnt cold boot anytime even 30 secs after switching off)
trying again with a few more tweaks to bios e.g.
ram up from 1.35 to 1.375
soc up from 1.0 v to 1.1 volt
procODT now 60 ohms from auto
command rate 2T
geardown disabled

lets see if it lets it cold boot now

Bad experience on this 2.40 with my Hynix LPX 3000 C15 5.30 .
3200 was not stable in anyway at any setting I've tried (and trust me, I've tried EVERY setting I could).
Weird and anti scientific behaviour changing ram settings. Had to clear cmos to start clean everytime and still getting strange Debug Codes especially in cold boots.

3066 stable but not only I didn't get any noticeble improvements, with all the agesa 1.0.0.6 betas and this stable release I get a stuttering experience on Battlefield 1

Seems like data flaw to the cpu is not as smooth as 2.30 agesa 1004 in any way, and I already reported this for the previous betas.

Benchmarks and numbers seems not to show this actual drop in smoothness showing a little bit higher values, wich however do not correspond in any way to actual performance in games.

I invite you guys to test your rig not only in stress tests but also in you real world usage, with real software you use every day.
Higher numbers in FPS counters do not mean anything if the experience they give is disappointing.

Back to 2.30, exact same settings, everything smooth.
What a disappoint.

So, summarizing, no improvements over agesa 1004 2.30, only hiccups and negative effects for my system and my Hynix ram.

Also, BankGroupSwap setting not applying at all with this "stable" release.

Could @wardog or @Xaltar please report to asrock engineers?
Thank you for sharing your experience and help each other

Thx for the tips but it didnt help(((( i could start on 2933 cl16 2t/1t with soc 1.1 but get blue screen 0xd1 on simple work. I wonder if it is my memory issue or bios issue. On auto on 2.40 i get blue screen even on 30x100, all auto, memory auto(2400). I guess some work needs to be done in 2.x0 next bios. I just rolled back to 2.30 and now on 3800, ddr 2400 no blue screens and such under aida stress test full night
