I'm making this post as the last attempt desperately looking for help to resolve the issue I'm having in overclocking the ram kit to run at the speed it was designed for (please refer to my sig for full sys spec).
Some of you might have seen my posts scattered in different threads as I'm trying to gather all the data from folks who are able to successfully overclock their memory kit but not necessarily having the same combination of MOBO and ddr4 as mine as I have not seen any (and how on earth asrock has this particular memory kit on their QVL for this board is baffling).

Anyway to start off this is what's shown in aida64

If anyone with the same combination of MOBO/Ram kit, and was able to overclock it to 3200, please share your method I would really appreciate it.

Thank you.

Teckie, if you have not tried BIOS 3.00, please do.  Enjoy, John.

I have the same mobo and ram.  Leaving all other settings at Auto except(sorry if terms aren't correct):

RAM to XMP
Speed 3200mhz
OC Mode
Both Line Level set to 1

and

Speed 3333mhz
DDR Voltage at 1.36v

Can post screenshots later.

My R1700 is oc'd to 3800 at 1.3v(haven't played around with trying a lower voltage).

I just tried both setting you provided with cpu running both at stock and at 3.9 and still a no go.
There is no hope for me i guess.

Yup those are the settings I tried and it did not post either. The only difference here is my R1700X running at 3.9 / 1.3 volts (i tried 1.35 volts and didnt work either)

I'm starting to believe that it has to do with the cpu itself which I might have to contact AMD and see if I can exchange it.

Thanks for your help.

I found something very interesting: the screenshot of the first tab of your bios, the memory shown as dual channel but on mine it is shown as single channel ?!?!?! This is the problem I think.

Now why or what causes on mine I need to find out.

To put your RAM in dual channel mode you need to install it in banks A1+B1 or A2+B2. This weird arrangement is catching quite a few people off-guard where they are used to A1+A2 or B1+B2. I've tested a K4 with a very similar G.Skill kit and with UEFI 2.5 ran 3066MHz CL14 without any problems, switch your RAM to dual channel and try a 2933MHz divider as a starting point.

Not sure if I fully understand because I installed the 2 sticks on the 2nd and 4th slots (A2+B2 and away from the cpu) according to the MOBO instruction.

Are you suggesting I should try A1+B1 ?

Weird arrangement? Dual channel, two channels, are labeled channel A and channel B. How else would you label/identify the two channels?

Channels A and B, or 1 and 2, or left and right, clearly identify which channel is which.

Check a quad/four channel memory board, Intel X99 for example, four memory channels, each channel with two slots, the channels labeled A, B, C, D.

What mother board manufacture is NOT labeling and separating the memory channels into A, B, etc? I cannot think of one mother board I have used, including Asus, Gigabyte, ECS, and Intel, that does not label multiple memory channels in this way. ASRock has used this labeling format for many, many years, if not always. That is clearly shown in the manual.

Hi Teckie, check with your motherboard manual. For dual channel memory the memory sticks need to be inserted in slots A2 and B2 (the second and four slots starting from the CPU side)

I stated this 2 posts above this.

Anyway I just got off the phone with Asrock technician and it boiled down to 2 things it's either motherboard or CPU which is the culprit of the issue. I'm thinking about returning the motherboard.

Edit:

Now i know it's the motherboard for sure. B2 is defected after testing with each stick of memory. System would not posted with either stick in slot B2 but posted fine with A2.
I do not why I didnt think of testing with each memory in each slot before but somehow got a "hunch" that it's the faulty motherboard that i have. Asrock RMA is already approved and this sucker gonna get sent back in the morning.

BTW, in the email, Asrock stated that they will send me a certified board. Does this mean used ? Is this common practice ?

Thanks to Mojobaggins for his assist.
