I just built a new machine around Z270+7700K+Linux Mint.

My primary objective is near-silent operation. I will be underclocking the CPU to keep TDP as low as possible (typically <25W) for my modest computing needs. I selected semi-passively cooled PSU and GPU, which means their fans remain off most of the time.

I'm looking for a utility that will run on a Linux machine that would allow me to set RPM vs. temperature thresholds (or define response curves) for the CPU and case fans. Thx.

Dear Ginahoy,

Thank you for contacting ASRock.

Regarding your question, because there are too many Linux OS, we may not able to build a utility for all of them.

We have a function called FAN-Tastic Tuning, that allow ASRock customer can set the CPU, case fan speed and temperature curves in BIOS.

BIOS Path: H/W Monitor > FAN-Tastic Tuning

Thank you!

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD

Sounds unreasonable.
Linux has many Desktops and Package Managers but just one Backend.
Asrock could just develop their tool for Linux and release it as rpm Package (compatible to almost any Unix).
Contrary to Windows, where an Utility developed for XP likely doesnt work on Windows 7, and the same with Windows 10.

It's the money, right?
