" rel="nofollow - There are two PCI-E X16 slots on X370 Killer SLI.

If I use the botton slot and still get 16X or 8X?

Because my CPU fan is bigger so I can only install graphic card on below slot.

Please advise.

I would like to know this as well. I want to do a vertical mount on my GPU, but would have to use the PCIE4 slot to avoid a huge ribbon setup.

PCIE2 (PCIe 3.0 x16) is used for PCI Express x16 lane width graphics cards.

and

PCIE4 (PCIe 3.0 x16) is used for PCI Express x8 lane width graphics cards.

The PCIE4 slot is definitely PCIe 3.0 x8 electrically, while being x16 physically.

A standard x16 video card will operate at PCIe 3.0 x8 in the PCIE4 slot.

Dear rayray842,

Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.

With AMD Ryzen series CPUs, VGA cards could be installed on both PCIE x16 slots.
Single at x16 (PCIE2); dual at x8 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE4) speed.

With AMD 7th A-Series APUs, VGA cards could only be installed on first PCIE x16 slot and the PCIE speed is x8.

Please refer below links, there is detailed Specification.

Thanks!

All the best,
ASRock TSD
