" rel="nofollow - Has anyone had any success overclocking their 1600x on a taichi board?

I have been struggling to get it to POST, it either fails on a cold boot/warm reset after exiting bios/windows restart. However, if i use Ryzen Master to set the settings, it passes hours of stress testing.

Can't seem to even get 3.9ghz with 1.425v and soc 1.2v, other settings:
- c6 off
- global c states off
- llc 3
- advanced training off
- 1.0.0.6a bios

dr debug typically fails with 78/06

cpu oc fails while running memory at stock (i managed to get memory to 3200 seperately, 16 14 14 34 1T using 1.385v, seems taichi doesn't provide dram boot voltage so i needed 1.385 for cold boots)

any ideas?

" rel="nofollow - that seems a lot of volts without getting your oc to boot !

i get 3.9 on 1.306 volts and have never had an issue with the cpu cold boot (i do get it with ram overclocks though)

if its any help i will share what i do to get the overclock from cpu

second tab (advanced) i set the cpu volts to fixed and llc to level2, the soc to 1.0v fixed and llc to level2

now in the pstates tuning (amd cbs whatsit)
i set
pstates custom settings to
9c
8
27

so thats 3900 and 1.306 volts

this has worked for me from early april and all bios from 1.6 up

one wondering ponderment ?

are you using a new psu ,have you tested it ?
psu testers are very cheap to buy and perform a loop of load tests to determine that the psu is nice and smooth and not giving any high or low spikes

It sounds like you got unlucky in the silicon lottery. My 1600x hits 4.1 at that voltage, not stable but I can boot into the OS.

I don't do anything fancy in my OC settings either, just set 4100 and ~1.4v all other settings at defaults.

I had this problem on the ab350 with a 1600x. Stable when OC'd in Windows, but wouldn't boot.

I had to set +50mv in the bios, so if I wanted 1.38v I set the manual voltage to 1.325 then set an offset as well. I think on boot it's using a lower voltage setting than our manual input, and the offset allows us to boot.

It's already worked for two other people I've told about it. Good luck.
