Quite correct about Threadripper, that went non-NDA today, 8/10/2017, the reviews are out there!

The installer listed a new (?) version of the Ryzen Balanced Power Plan, version 2.0... something or other. It seems to have over written the Ryzen power plan I had installed, but only reset some of the Advanced settings that I had modified. Minimum processor state is still set to 90%, so if you are using one of the "higher" (lower core frequency) PStates that can be active under low CPU load conditions, you'll need to modify the Minimum processor state value.

The main AMD driver download page lists chipset, AHCI, USB 3.0, and RAID drivers in the two Chipset driver links. But after running this installer on my Ryzen PC, I still have the standard Microsoft AHCI driver (storahci) installed for the two AMD SATA controllers. The same is true for the USB 3.0 controllers, all of them only use the Microsoft USB 3.0 drivers.

Of course, this AMD chipset driver package is universal to all existing AMD chipsets, so the AMD AHCI and USB 3.0 drivers in the package must be for other, earlier chipsets. Also, at least the MSoft USB 3.0 drivers might be left in place due to the Windows 10 thing of only using a USB 3.0 driver for all the USB ports, and possibly preempting other USB 3.0 drivers. I know the ASMedia USB 3.0 driver will install on Intel boards with ASMedia USB 3.x chips, with Windows 10, so perhaps the AMD USB 3.0 driver is not meant to be used with Ryzen.

It is hardware level security for APUs.
