All is working great (AB350M-HDV) and I use Win10 OS but no sound from both front and rear ports speakers of headphones. Only sound comes via Asus Graphics card GTX1060 (HDMI) thru monitor with in built speakers. Any suggestions and or solutions would go down well at the moment. Thanks

Dear dighame,
Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.
Regarding the question, we provide some suggestions for verifying.
1. Please refer to the user manual (page.26) from the link below to clear CMOS (Please shut down the AC power). http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Manual/AB350M-HDV.pdf" rel="nofollow - http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Manual/AB350M-HDV.pdf
2. Please re-install Realtek high definition audio driver ver:8004 from the link below for Win 10-64bit OS. Link: http://asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350M-HDV/index.asp#osW1064" rel="nofollow - http://asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350M-HDV/index.asp#osW1064 3. Please check if Realtek audio device could be detected in Device Manager > Audio. 4. If possible, please change another front audio panel, headphone and speaker to verify.
Thanks!
All the best, ASRock TSD

The same problem and the same MBO (AB350M-HDV R4.0). No sound, rear or front. Only HDMI audio works (when plugged in). Onboard HD audio in BIOS is enabled. Defaults also loaded. BIOS is 3.30, not upgraded to 3.70 as recommended by ASRock (Raven Ridge CPU).
Windows 10/64 Pro 1909, clean install. Installed Realtek HDA drivers from https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/AB350M-HDV%20R4.0/index.asp#Download Device manager under audio devices lists only "AMD High Definition Audio Device", VEN_1002, DEV_AA01. No yellow question marks or unknown devices anywhere. Settings -> Sound: No output device No input device either. Clicking on audio tray icon (it is red-white crossed) starts troubleshooter which offers to repair three audio devices, all of them are HDMI.
Tried Linux Mint 19.3 live USB. The same situation. It gives only "Dummy output" unless HDMI is plugged in, as if no Realtek audio hardware is present. But...
mint@mint:~$ lspci |grep -i audio 08:00.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Device 15de 08:00.6 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Device 15e3
If I disable HD audio in BIOS, then one of them, "Device 15e3" disappears from the list. So it must be somehow "alive".
more detailed info... inxi -SAxx mint@mint:~$ inxi -SAxx System: Host: mint Kernel: 5.0.0-32-generic x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 7.4.0 Desktop: Xfce 4.14.1 tk: Gtk 3.22.30 wm: xfwm4 dm: LightDM Distro: Linux Mint 19.3 Tricia base: Ubuntu 18.04 bionic Audio: Device-1: AMD driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel bus ID: 08:00.1 chip ID: 1002:15de Device-2: AMD vendor: ASRock driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel bus ID: 08:00.6 chip ID: 1022:15e3 Sound Server: ALSA v: k5.0.0-32-generic
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Perhaps I should have mentioned, CPU pins have been bent and straightened. But I don't see how it can affect the sound in any way. Realtek audio chip is on the MBO, not inside the CPU. And everything else besides analog sound works perfectly. The CPU is Ryzen 5 2400G.

Yes it is under warranty, brand new. Essentially the sound is DOA. But, due to corona lockdown, I would probably get the replacement on st. nevers day. Anyway, I feel that it would be the same with new MBO. The audio hardware _is_ listed under lspci, it is mistery why there is no sign of it in device manager. In the end, the solution will be a USB sound dongle. But I still would like to know who is pulling my leg.

I'm here for the same issue. Brand new system with ryzen 5 3600 CPU. No sound. Drivers have been updated, uninstalled, reinstalled - Nothing. Sound panel shows the volume levels moving, but nothing coming out from either front or rear ports. Bios at lat4est level 3.7 which I had to have done just so the motherboard and CPU would work together.

I have an Asrock B450M Pro4, but I'm having an identical issue. When I do try to install the realtek driver (6.0.8730.1 for my mob) my computer crashes and I get (from windows 10) BSOD with a SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION ERROR. The error code lways indicates the RTKVHD64.SYS file for the fault. I do see a lot of audio issues with various machines for Windows 10 when I search around. This is very frustrating.

I have the same problem, no audio detected in the device manager and whenever I install my realtek driver it wont show up on my device manager also. I am a beginner in this world so I dont really understand what is happening. It all happened after I restart my pc. Then no audio. only audio I have now is from my gpu. Sadly, I cant use it for my work since I cant plug in any mic since I am only using an hdmi to vga adapter

I did hear back from Asrock technical support, I followed their guidance and got my same results (BSOD with RTKVHD64.SYS stop code). I've seen a lot of issues people are having with their BIOS. I'm not sure if that could have anything to do with the audio. If I figure out anything new I will post my results here.

Hey,
I basically have the same issues, only for me everything worked fined until today. I got myself a second graphics card and installed that and once I did that everything sorta went its own way.
Whenever I plug in my speakers they dont show up, in the BIOS it doesnt say they are connected, I'm starting to think that the port itself died somehow??
But as the previous person mentioned with lockdown and whatnot god knows when a replacement will be sent out.
Also.. I get audio if i plug my speakers in the front headphone jack..

Same Issue here, just happened today. Before it was working ok with three jacks connected in the back to a 5.1 speakerset.
I now only can use the hdmi audio through my monitor. This sucks!
Tried everything, complete reinstall win10, reinstalled all drivers audio etc
What is going on here please help! Almost bought a new pc today driving me nuts.

I looked in cmos after hitting f2 while restarting, found a setting to disable onboard sound and applied. Restarted and enabled again. Again restarted into windows.
Dunno wtf happened but my sound is back 5.1.
Try diabling and enabling onboard audio in cmos maybe fixes it.

It is a windows up date. I fixed mine by unplugging the HDMI and switching to VGA. Then I shut the PC down unplugged the power cord and held the power button on front of tower down for couple min to de-energizer the system. So that when I rebooted it cleaned the moss. Might work for you GL

Take that back guys That did not work. had head set plugged in to audio out port. I had to restore to before amd driver update. Windows update is clear. I tracked from the bio's updated the board no go. moved to the windows drivers even payed the 9.99 for the one steep window drivers. try new drivers across the board on all fronts. then worked backwards and did a restore to before new AMD drivers because I had just did a recovery as I all ways do every 6 months and tear down and rebuild my tower with new thermal past cleaning of the tower. I know bad on read and wrights but 60 dolor hard drive vs 100's for hardware. Any ways after the graphics update roll back sound was back. So just for giggles I reinstalled it to see and sure enough no sound once more. I have a Ticket in with AMD about the missing update files or conflict. Will update once I know more I do a plagiarize for the miss leading info before.

New build this week same issue you all are having [B550 Pro4]. To note, running with dual boot and Ubuntu has no issues with sound. This is most unfortunate, as I built this to post process videos and have NO SOUND with my Windows Apps. Extremely unsatisfied that that we are not hearing from ASRock with this being a KNOWN ISSUE.

I am having the same issues no sound from the front or rear 3.5 jacks both on windows 10 and win 8.1 but sound works fine when plugged into a usb to 3.5 adaptor I feel it is a hardware problem not software.

same issue with RYZEN5 3600x CPU and MSI B450M motherboard. AMD 5 series cpus stop onboard display ports and that is already told by AMD but i guess same problem occurs with audio ports. Because in BIOS setp i can't see display and audio ports active but i can see all other ports are active when some device or cable connected to them. so this is nothing about drivers or ASROCK.its about AMD cpu.

I'm having this exact same issue. Tried so many things to no avail. Has anyone managed to find a solution or is the only option to RMA?
