Hello AsRock
I have the z790 C with latest 15.01 Bios
My chip is an intel 14900kf.
I've seen the question asked before but I don't believe ASRock has commented.
Intel recommends "Intel Defaults"
There is no "Intel Defaults" power option. We currently have:
BIOS Default Performance Mode Baseline Mode
1) Which one do we use? And 2) What other settings do we need to adjust?

If I had to guess I would say BIOS defaults, the BIOS core code is provided by intel. Performance and baseline modes are likely tuned settings by ASRock (and other manufacturers on other brand boards).

Going from this reference posted by intel, it seems 'performance' and 'baseline' are the actual profile names, with a tendency for performance to be recommended.
Now 'bios defaults' seems to set what intel calls 'performance' pl1/pl2 and IccMax (called 'CPU Core Current Limit' by asrock) for me. So I guess it's best to reference that image to see if those settings are obeyed.

Thank you. Are the Pl1 and Pl2 terms referred the same on AsRock motherboard?

Pl1 and Pl2 are called 'Long Duration Power Limit' and 'Short Duration Power Limit'. IccMax is called 'CPU Core Current Limit' CEP is called 'IA CEP Enable' eTVB is called ... my cpu does not feature this, so can't tell TVB is called 'Intel Thermal Velocity Boost Ratio Clipping' TVB Voltage Optimizations is called 'Intel Thermal Velocity Boost Voltage Optimizations'
Also noticeable: In OC Tweaker\Voltage Configuration totally at the bottom of the page are the AC and DC loadline settings.

Can't edit my above post, but intel recommends AC and DC loadlines be the same value. The latest bios actually did this for me, setting both to 0.74 mOHm (milli Ohm)
I'm guessing these are also influenced by: CPU Vcore Compensation for the AC line and CPU/Core/Cache Load-Line Calibration for the DC line

So for me the recommended settings for my chip are the extreme. Which is Pl1 and PL2 set at 253 w. The cpu current core limit is set at 400a.
When I run Cinebench 2024 test the cpu is reaching 100 degrees Celsius.
Seems way too high. Any suggestions?

Those settings seem alright for your CPU. Are you sure the other settings like CEP and (eTVB) are applied too?
What cooling are you using?
What core voltages do you see in for example hwInfo64?
Sometimes you can get away with a small undervolt, that will shave a bit off the temperatures.

Ok.For whatever reason I completely missed the additional settings on top of the intel recommended sheet.
I was able to change the rest of the settings except for the following as I searched and could not find the asrock z790-c equivalent terminology
ICCMAX unlimited bit TJMAXX offset C-states
Ive tried to attach a screenshot of cinebench but i dont see anywhere on this reply screen where i can do that. I watched the entire test and the current cpu package was almost always pegged close to 100. The core temperatures above it were in the 90's

Iccmax Unlimited bit = CPU Power limitation TjMax Offset = CPU TjMax both are in OC Tweaker/CPU configuration
C-states = CPU C States support in Advanced/CPU Configuration
