Subject: F-Stream Tuning Access Violation Error on X370 ITX
Date Posted: 27 Aug 2017 at 1:17pm
Hello all,
I have an AsRock X370 itx AM4 motherboard and for the life of me I'm unable to run F-Stream Tuning. Every time I launch the program, I'm greeted with an access violation error of sorts "0fffffff". I have tried other solutions offered online like installing the program on the x64 programs folder (instead of the default x86), checking for backwards compatibility with older versions of windows, running the software as administrator, etc. all to no avail! Could someone chime in and help a fellow member out here. My rig specs are:
X370 Fatal1ty itx motherboard Ryzen 1700 CPU Corsair Vengenace LPX 3200 (16 GB) EVGA 850 Gold PSU AMD RX Vega 64 Graphics Card Windows 10 Pro
Any and all suggestions, feedback and or insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!

TheRedCrossKnight, I tried it on my VM (W10 x64 Pro) and got the same error. I suggest this is a job for ASRock support and recommend you open a support ticket. I tried DLs from all sites and tried changing the installation folder, all yielding the same error as you get. Sorry. Enjoy, John.

" rel="nofollow - Is there someone out there who can tell me if they are able to run F-Stream with no issues? I also noticed that the App Shop doesn't display any apps when opened (everything is empty inside).
Anyone who can chime in....anyone...ANYONE?

Thanks, nangu. Please post the URL for where you DLed the application and tell us what date. If you can, please post the hash codes (at least the byte count from Properties) for the installer. Thanks and enjoy, John.

Your welcome John. I downloaded the utility directly from the Asrock's downloads tab on my motherboard specification web page.
When at home tonight I will update this post with the required information.
Cheers.

Hi John,
Product version is 3.0.132.0, File size 43603 Kbytes (zip compressed)
CRC32: C614D518 MD5: 2448B835A8A109CF38A025C277F08039
Seems like I have an older version installed. Checking AppShop tells me there are a new version available, which I think it's the one you downloaded from the K4 page.

This is the link of the App Store i'm using: http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Utility/Others/APPShop(v1.0.31).zip
I'd love to be able to run F-Stream on my AsRock X370 ITX/AC so I'd appreciate if you share a different download link other than the one on the support page for my motherboard...

Unfortunately, same issue occurs when I try to launch F-Stream after installation. I'm greeted with the following error:
"Access violation at address 0000FFFF. Read of address 0000FFFF"
Doing some research online regarding this error...Urgh, this is so FRUSTATING!

" rel="nofollow - TheRedCrossKnight, fails for me on VM as well. My VM has a simulated MB, so no ASRock. I assume you are running on real HW with an ASRock MB? My only suggestion is to pressure ASRock to help you. Enjoy, John.

TheRedCrossKnight, I guess your question is directed at me, but I said nothing about HWMonitor. I am testing on a virtual machine and the main board is simulated in SW. I assume you are running on real hardware. Enjoy, John.

Hello!
First time poster here!
I have the exact same problem with F-Stream with the exact same motherboard! Did everything you did and nothing worked...

I have the X370 Taichi Motherboard and when I diasable "CSM Compatibility" in the BIOS I get the same error as you all with the A-Tuning App which should be the same as F-Stream. With "CSM Compatibility" enabled the programm works as expected. So maybe you should try to enable "CSM Compatibility"...

YES!!! Setting "CSM Compatibility" in BIOS to "Enabled" to fixes the "validation error" when trying to launch F-Stream in Windows 10.
You sir have resolved many hours of senseless troubleshooting and woes. THANK YOU!

Glad it worked for you, but IMO an unacceptable workaround to have CSM enabled in order for F-Stream to work normally.
I routinely have CSM disabled on all my PCs, and the various ASRock utilities like F-Stream, A-Tuning, etc, work fine on all of my Intel chipset/CPU boards made by ASRock.
If this is related to Ryzen somehow, I don't know but this needs to be fixed. Yes, I also get the error when running A-Tuning (for my Ryzen board) using Windows 10.

I encounter the same problem with A-tuning, with same error even with CSM enable.
Is kind of annoying that I cant run any of the software from the Asrock mobo that it come with, No RGB or A-tuning control, so no fan, temps or even light control and I see a lot of people with this problem and no solutions, am starting to regret getting this mobo...... :(

A-Tuning access violation 0000FFFF. Installed as admin, run as admin, nothing works.
I've installed Windows in EUFI so I doubt CSM will allow booting.
However, I do think I did have this working when I initially installed Windows 10 with CSM enabled during the first few days of my build going live.

Maybe I shouldn't go downloading and installing program and utilities for other boards, but I searched for that number 3.0.186 and found a A320 and A350 boards with it.
I downloaded each and checked their hashes, same file.
Installed and it works on X370 TaiChi - even the background is the TaiChi gears and cogs.
I don't think I'll bother playing with the auto overclock modes, no need for that. Monitoring vCore it looks like the HWInfo64 and others for the Nuvoton chip.
